Polish, or not to polish...that is the question.

I have a 2010 CGM and although it is my daily driver, I keep it clean. I have never polished or waxed my Camaro, but I often use a quick detail spray after a wash.

I'm starting to notice sporadic swirl marks, here an there, although nothing very noticeable. But because the swirls are there, it is really bothering me.

Questions:

1. Should I invest $300 in an Adam's detailing kit (PC, and 3 levels of polish)? Is it necessary considering the car is not covered in swirls?

2. Is there a less expensive route? Even though it is not about the money, I don't want to "over do it" if it's not necessary.

3. Will using an Adam's synthetic or carnuba wax be suffice to "cover up/remove" these swirls? I don't want to be to invasive to my cars sealant by polishing the heck out of it.

Thanks guys & gals. Would love to heard from Adam's themselves!!

If they are indeed minor you likely don't need severe swirl. A kit like this would do since it includes only the medium and fine steps:

After your Camaro5 discount you'd be around $270 for that.

There are many products on the market that work great, I'd be lying to say "ONLY ADAM'S CAN HELP YOU!" The benefit of going with us is that we make it easy to learn with the color coded process, hands on customer support, and videos. Plus you get the 110% satisfaction guarantee + Lifetime warranty on tools which is nice for your peace of mind knowing if it breaks its covered.

If you want to try to mask temporarily them rather than remove them I'd say give the Brilliant Glaze + Americana a try. This won't require a machine to apply and does a decent job of hiding very minor imperfections.

We offer it in 2 sizes now:

PREMIUM SHINE KIT W/ MINI PASTE WAX

PREMIUM SHINE KIT W/ FULL SIZE PASTE WAX

Also forgot, you're in canada... if you place an order be sure to do it at www.AdamsPolishes.ca so you don't have to pay the duties and other fees for cross border shipment.

I'm in a similar spot; I think I'm gonna have mine professionally done in spite of having
acquired a few hundred $$$ worth of Polishing Tools and Supplies.

Truthfully, after spending a few hours washing and prepping, I have little motivation to spend hours more doing a (possibly sub-par) polishing job.

Go with the PC kit. Don't cut corners because in a little while your gonna need to remove more. When I get the money I'm buying that kit.

I'm wondering if it would be safer just to clay, then wax my Camaro? Since the swirls are not bad, I don't want to strip off any clear coat. Thoughts?

Polishing with the PC doesn't 'strip off the clear coat'... it simply removes a microscopic layer. You can feasibly polish your car hundreds of times with the PC and our Fine Machine Polish without ever having fear of strike thru.

This is one of those fears people have before they ever pick up a machine that is fairly common. Trust me when I say theres no real reason to be afraid of that. If it were the case 80% of the cars on this site would have removed their clear a long time ago LOL.
