Thank god for the Silverado and the F 150. The very vehicles the government wants to get rid of.

I thought Americans wanted smaller cars not big ol trucks and cars with huge V 8's.

That is not what the good news was about. Re-read the article.

I don't buy the 'spin' that's so common with the current economic depression the media is trying to deflect with finding good news in what's obviously bad news. The 'news' is whatever I consider it to be.

I really believe there is pent up demand for a stylish performance coupe that is well built, affordable, economical, and fun to drive. The V6 Camaro is all of these.

As for the SS..... I think even GM has to be having a hard time holding back from just laughing out loud uncontrolably. After all the hoopla about fuel, emissions, CAFE, the green peace crowd's demands that we all drive homogenous electric vehicles, and a certain California politician/Speaker of the House who's name I refuse to mention but is an ugly wench who is really trying to push her wacky agenda on every man woman and child in America......

People still love big V8s and rear wheel drive!

If the Camaro continues to sell well over the next few years, especially the SS, and the govt. task force overseeing the new GM tells the new GM to halt Camaro production, there will be a rally on Capitol Hill. And I would take sheer glee in doing a few donoughts arount that certain politician and make her choke on my fumes!

You couldn't be more wrong.

in short they are down 29% from last year. They've been hovering around 40% down.. So moving to a smaller number is good news.

There's no spin here just facts.

What's more, GM's sales drop is much smaller than that of toyota's or honda's.

5500 Camaros in a month were they are still disappearing at the factory and they JUST got up to 440 units a day. That is a great number! In our area Camaros are staying on the dealers lot (the presold ones that the buyers back out on) about an average of 2 hours. 2 HOURS.

Exactly. GM is taking back share. They NEED to do this. I can only imagine how strong Chevy would be if they had a better full size car. The Impala still sold almost 20k cars and its a VERY dated platform.

We need to re-look at how we purchase things in this country going forward. If we want to see our neighbors working we buy American. If you want to keep the neighborhood "Mom & Pop" shops open, instead of saving a few bucks at walmart, support the local business's. When all the local business's are dead and the only thing left is the Walmarts and Home Depots, then we are stuck with what they offer.

Of course we cannot ignore the fact that most American cars SUCKED BAD in the eighties and early nineties, but changes have been made and look at the awesome car we get..................Thanks GM!

BUY AMERICAN!! :flag1::flag2:

This is the type of spin that the media pushes on us now. All this upbeat media talk about GM's future reminds me of Saddam Hussein's information minister spouting obvious lies.

Since 2002, GM got MY money for an '01 Saturn L200, an '02 Silverado Ext. cab 4x4, an '09 Vue and a '10 Camaro SS.

2 of these are V8s! (My two, the wife has the others)

You've made your case and chosen to ignore the fact that moving up and increasing it's market share is a good thing for GM.

Now we agree to disagree.

Any further negative posts here will be seen as trolling. We acknowledge that you don't agree. And you have every right to do so. Please don't rain on our parade, as we've chosen to be happy about a GM that is on the path to recovery.

You don't have to be happy about it if you don't want to... All I ask is you let us enjoy GM's success in peace.

Thanks,

i would agree with your argument if it wasnt for the fact that all the other companies aren't doing so hot either. we are still in a recession so comparing sales from last year to this year is somewhat obsolete. its up from last month and they do have the highest #s, im no economic expert but i wouldn't consider that bad news. Hopefully as the recession ends (just like they have in the past) those #s will continue to increase.
