Ok to the good stuff.

My build date was 5/29/2009 so I had part number 20840958 installed. The hardware version is CB/CC.

I have seen references to part number 20927509. This hardware version is DA/DX

I have also seen a new part number 20985421 in the catalog. This is version DB/DB.

This is not anything I've picked up off the internet. All 3 modules, versions and pictures were done by me today with my own personal vehicle.

If you don't have the PDIM and you buy the latest PDIM kit, 20940641, it will come with part number 20927509 (DA/DX). I know this because I just got a 20940641 kit on Friday and opened it and the part number on the module is 20940641.

It does appear to me that GM will be adding the new number, 20985421 to that kit, but it has not been done yet.

There is all of the good news.

The bad news is, if you have a 2010, the latest part number in any catalogs, with GM or reference material is 20927509 (DA/DX). If you get it done under warranty for a 2010 you will only be allowed to get 20927509 or the claim will bounce.

If you have a 2011 and you don't have part number 20985421, then you can get it and warranty will pay for it.

So the current PDIM add-on kit does not have the new part number in it as of this moment. I do believe, however, that it will shortly.

Personally, with the 2010's, I don't know why GM just doesn't change all of the part numbers over to the latest one, 20985421. The 2011 module works in the 2010 as that is what I did today. Any other questions, just ask. I'll answer if I know the answer!

When I reached out to a GM Employee, I was told their probably wouldn't be a TSB because the reports of issues are sporadic and not all owners are reporting an issue.

Your best bet is to continue pushing with your dealership until they agree to replace the module.

That's probably because not all owners are using their USB ports.

Well, they won't even replace my hardware (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...19#post2970119), they are doing a software update. I am at CC/CE. Was there an SW update after CE?

If they won't replace it, then I will buy the unit myself and put it in.

I don't think that there ever was a software update after CE...I could be wrong though.

Thats how they win.

Yeah it's stupid we should have to do this... I agree with what was said earlier, most people probable don't use it but there certainly is a lot in the forums who do and that are pissed it's not working...

yeah, complete bullshit if you ask me. Its shit like this that makes me hate companies.
They know its broken, fix it. Shouldnt take 10 thousand people to all say, hey this is broken before you own up to it.
i knew ultimately this would happen, check my previous posts.
I was trying to give chevy the benefit of the doubt and hope they would fix it.
Without a TSB when i go to my dealer, its like talking to a brick wall. They dont know what im talking about. Nice guys, but completely clueless.

thanks anyway chevy

I just want to be able to have my entire music collection on a single USB flash drive (and I refuse to buy an iPod). I may just pay for the part myself and install the newest one so I can have more than 2500 songs per drive. It took 4 trips to various dealerships just to get my PDIM software updated the first time and it's not worth it to me to go through that again trying to find one that will replace the module under warranty.

If I buy the PDIM myself and install it, will the dealer do the SW updates under warranty or will I have to pay.
