3M clearbra / could only happen to me - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So I just washed and waxed the car yesterday and of course today a bird takes a crap on it. It was directly on the 3M film and it couldn't have been on the car for more than 2 hours. I tried to gently rinse it off but it was stubborn. Once removed I discovered it ruined the 3M film. There's a spot on the film the same size as the bird dropping. Attempted to use a mild bug and tar remover which didn't do anything to the spot. Looks like it's there for good. Anyone else ever encounted this? It's not like it was baked on there for a few days, it's only 60 degrees here and overcast. Either we have some highly toxic birds here in Mass. or this 3M stuff isn't as great as I thought it would be.

I've had that happen to me... I just used my adam's products and it cleaned up like new..
I used the fine swirl mark remover, then the machine polish, then the brilliant glaze, then the paste wax, then the paint sealer...when I was done, my car was super shinny and looked like red glass..

Bird crap will etch the 3M material worse than it does paint. I have to take my PC to the spot with swirl remover. I've never had my paint etch from crap as long as it's waxed. Even unwaxed any bird etching will polish out of the paint much easier than the clearbra.
