Just Ordered and have some Q's
This must be the 1000th time someone has posted a thread like this, but I just need to clear some stuff up, Ive been a long time Camaro5 reader and yes I did try and search the board.
I just placed my order for a Black 2SS/RS, Manual 6, White Rally Stripes and Polished Rims. Can't wait to get it! So anyway the dealer I went though was allocated 8 cars. I am number 8 of 8. I was told and believe I read here (correct me if I'm wrong), that GM plans on filling all pre-sold orders by October. Getting the car in September works perfectly for me because it gives me tons of time to save up for my down-payment. I had been talking to two different dealers, the dealer I did not go with is trying to tell me that because I'm #8 I wont see the car until next year? I could have been #3 or #4 at their dealership, but I went with the other guy because he actually seemed to know what he was talking about and because if the car came in too soon I wouldn't have my down-payment ready. The guy I went with is a Camaro guy himself and everything he told me seemed to match what I've read here. So do you guys think I made the right choice? I figure the worst case is the car doesn't come in until later and by then I'll have a larger down-payment. |

I think you did perfect. The other dealer may have actually got your car too soon regardless of what he said. Save that money and get your car at the before the end of the year.

You did what worked best for you to get in a Camaro! Can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing!

There is no dealer that can guarantee that your car will be there by that time frame. It MAY be there by then and it MAY be there by January. No one knows.

RPO's trying to be realistic, which is good, there are no guarantees of delivery time, but I think you have a very good chance of getting it right when you want it in September. And the bonus of a dealer who's well informed and a Camaro guy.

Close. All INITIAL ALLOCATION is supposed to be filled by October. That includes people who order, even today, at a dealer who still "has some left".

^ Makes sense, I ordered from a place that still had 1 of their initial allocations left.
