I seen the SP 4449, and thought it was big, then seen the Cab Forward at the museum in Sacramento, ant thought it was bigger

I have only seen photos of a Big Boy and they look immense!

That's pretty cool. I work for the railroad (KCS) and we have a restored locomotive from the 50s I believe. It's called the KCS 1. Google it, it's pretty neat. They use it when the big bosses come thru.

It looks like it is going to my hometown, Cheyenne, WY to be restored. I remember looking at the restored one in Cheyenne years ago as a kid.

Cheyenne is where the UP steam shop is and where they work on the historical locomotives they run.

The Challenger class is a 4-6-6-4 locomotive and is almost as big as the Big Boy. UP runs it near Cheyenne but it has been down for maintenance. The 844 is a FEF-3 4-8-4 locomotive and has been ok continuous service since the day it was delivered. It is still running right now.

just curious how they will get the Big Boy from point A to point B? That is one massive piece of equipment there.
