Car is in the shop.

I started smelling burning oil. Looked for an oil leak and found nothing. I took it into the service bay and my sevice advisor could smell it too. After reading other posts it has me worried. I only have 721 miles on it. VIN 1338.

Maybe it isn't as serious as the other post. Keep us posted.

I've been smelling it on mine too. Currently @ 1400 miles. I will be getting it on a lift soon for inspection.

I smell it on mine too. Can't find any leaks and oil level doesn't change. 2010 SS with 34k miles. I'm not worried about it. Smells like performance lol

Oops just noticed this was in the ZL1 forum. Oh well.

I have been smelling it to on occasion but right after I park the car always passes the sniff test and I'm not seeing anything on the ground yet. Mine is #1442 Its only when I drive it hard I smell it at toll booths etc.

I catch a whiff of oil smell once in a while. I noticed it when it was very hot and I had been running it hard. The oil smell was more prononced after a few runs at the drag strip. No leaks...just an oil vapor smell.

Maybe the oil seepage problem is more widespread if other members are smelling it. It's possible that it a small amount would burn off after it seeps through the block rather than dripping. I used to catch a whif of oil in my 99 GT Mustang after driving for a while. A dye test never showed anything. I suspect it may have been a head or intake gasket leaking above the oil level.

Well I got it back. It was put up on a lift and inspected. Everything was dry. There wasn't any signs of anything dripping and burning off. They were thinking it is just normal smells from the car being new and will go away with time.

I think with the hood openings, probably pretty easy for any engine smells to make it back to the cabin. Especially on a new car while things like labels on the exhaust are still burning off.

I had a modded SS for a while that I took off the rear hood/cowl seal to see if that would help let engine heat out at the track. All it did was made the vent air real hot and stinky, the seal went back on pretty quick.

If there are any oil leaks, there will be a puddle in your garage.
