Tire Noise at 75 mph plus

It's the nature of the Goodyears. Semi quiet for the first 5k miles or so,then they start to roar. I've had this problem since 1997 when I first started daily driving Corvettes. Since then I've had 13 of them & every one has been the same. My solution has been to switch to Michelins as soon as they start roaring.

No vibration in the wheel that I have noticed.

Just hit 800 miles and it has done it since I got it with 2 miles. Not doubting something could change as tires wear, but does not seem to be the issue here

If you switch to Michelins right away, you can sell the Goodyear tires and finance a big portion of the new tires --- that's what I did with my '12 Grand Sport, and '13 Z06 came with Michelin PS2s anyway.

That said, all performance tires I've used are either pretty loud. The extra wide tires are louder by nature, the aggressive alignment can increase the noise, too, and the fact that some models have less insulation material to start with (like the Z06) doesn't help. I have come to accept that this is the nature of driving these cars, and I get annoyed by tire noise only if it's coming out of my Subaru Outback, since it is not allowed/designed to be noisy

BFG's new "Rival" is already slated to be available in 285/35-20 and corresponds much more closely to the Goodyear G.2 than either of the G-force Sports. You might want to wait for it, especially if there's any autocrossing or track day usage foreseen.

I had the original G-force Sports on a previous car. As rear tires on a 375-ish HP 355 CID Malibu, they gripped well enough in a straight line or in pure cornering, but weren't as happy when asked to do some of both as the Firestone SZ50's I'd had before them. Never could figure out why, and just had to be a little more patient with the throttle on corner exit.

A set of the BFG Rival has already been ordered for me and are supposed to arrive first week of April through Tire Rack. They have some great reviews from a recent extensive test session on multiple cars, in multiple settings (track. Autocross, skidpad, etc) at the NOLA track.

I actually tried with my iPhone... ran up to 100 on the interstate, put clutch in to eliminate engine and exhaust noise and coasted, but it was hard to get clearly or to distinguish from typical road/wind noise. Really have to be there in the car.

I am having the same oscillating roaring sound @ 70+ mph...no vibration, though. I only have 1800 miles on the car. I was originally thinking it was a drivetrain issue, but I suppose it could be the tires as well. I like the road force balancing recommendation...I'm going to take it in to the dealer soon and suggest that. I've had that done in the past with good results on another vehicle.

Sometimes road noise is a result of a high performance tire. The softer the tire the higher the noise.

Could get a harder less performance based tire. Will defiantly change the road noise.

Oddly enough, sound has completely gone away as more miles were put on. By 2000 miles it is completely gone. Never changed anything....just went away.
