Rail Line Bottleneck?
I am hearing there is a bottleneck with the railcars delaying many deliveries. Has anyone else heard this?

OK, OK sorry. it was my dealer who is waiting for their LT1 Victory Red V6 showroom car. He has the window sticker with a VIN of 4869 or 4698, I didn't memorize it.
They made several calls to GM and they were told about the rail situation.

This would explain why I am getting the "on-hold" in shipment.

"heard" also this is because of that battery cable issue... not sure how they would fix them while on the rails??

I can promise you that there is no shortage of cars, but there is probably a shortage of getting the cars to the plant... its not uncommon for rail traffic to get backed up, especially if a high demand comes all at once... the UPRR has to fight that day in and day out... sometimes you just can't anticipate far enough ahead to know when customers are going to need autoracks and it takes a few days/weeks to get ramped up to full speed on deliveries

My dealer also told me of the "bottlerneck". Mine is produced, but he said it may still be a couple of weeks for delivery because of it.

Where the heck did this come from. With the downturn in business, from lack of shipments. There is not a shortage of railcars for shipping.
Now for some background. These shipments are pulled from the Oshawa plant (after loading on the railcars) and moved to a marshalling yard for assembly into trains and block (organized, if you will) as to destination location. These trains are then dispatched either to interchange points where shipments are given to other rail cariers or directly to the appropriate VDC if on the origin (same) rail carrier. They are then moved to the receiving VDC's for unloading , inspection for damages, release to haulaway truckers and delivery to dealers. They don't sit on the railcars for any longer than necessary. Sitting on rail cars wastes time and money.
