then you run into the problem of how far back can you put the scoop on the hood so that you clear the hood latch but yet still far enough forward so that you have ample room to mount an intake filter, MAF, IAT, etc before you get to the t/b. then if you can get all that to fit in there, you have to make sure that the scoop isnt too tall as to obstruct the view of the driver. ( I know none of us would normally give two rats asses about a scoop blocking our view, however muscle car enthusiats wont be the only ones buying the car and the needs of the masses take precedence over those of the "radicals")

I am totally against the fake scoop idea. There has been no announcement of a Z28 then this thread is rather pointless for starters. Second i will be getting a different front end placed on my SS when it arrives. If I am going to have an air scoop then I want it to do something instead of just being there. It is like the dumb blond in the bar, just siting there adding nor taking away from any thing just there taking up space.

I absolutly HATE FAKE SCOOPS - so much that I refuse to buy a Camaro if it has fake scoops. Also, the scoop does not have to force air into the intake, it can be a air extractor, or, no scoop at all.

Not for 2010 anyway. Think positive for next year. If the interest is there I honestly believe we will see new Z28s. Maybe limited numbers but that would just make them more desirable and more valuable later. Let's do it GM, how hard would it be to build a few Z28s at the end of the model year on the same line? Trim the weight and add a LS9. I would give up a few weight adding options to get one. Hell ya!!

I want the Z/28 to be all busines. Any scoops or ducts should be functional. That's what defines a Z/28 over other models. It is meant to do something.

Im affraid Chevy will pull the same trick they did with the Corvette. They took the same fake scoop on the Z06 and slaped it on the ZR1.
