Benefits of adding an SS Fascia to a V6.

Yesterday I ran over a curb my with Camaro and it left a huge around 3 inches scratch under the bumper, that you can't really see unless you lay down, but I talked to a body shop guy and he said to repaint the scratch would be around $430, and an SS Fascia is only like $70 more, so I was thinking of just getting one. I always wanted a SS fascia anyways but now I'm just wondering would the mail slot be able to benefit my CAI by using it to get the air?

1. The mail slot is not functional, so it would not provide any benefit
2. Trying to make a V6 look like an SS is going to make you look like a wannabe. Even if you are not trying to pretend you have an SS, most people will think that you are. Have you ever seen a V6 Mustang with GT badges? I have and it is sad, just sad.

I'd prolly put my RS badge on it with the mail slot lol, not trying to pretend I have a V8 but I do like the look of the nose slot, anyways I've heard of taking the whole "plastic thing" out of the mail slot, maybe if I did that I could hook my CAI in it and it'll be functional?

I say go with the SS look. It looks sweet. Who cares if people think you're a wannabe.

Mail slot is fake/non-functional. I never understood why anyone would want it.

I think the lower grills are different if you want to factor that cost in.
I don't care for the fake mailslot, but do what you want. It's your car.

Nope, the upper radiator support blocks the majority of the opening plus the opening size would be a restriction in comparison. IMNHO it would be a complete waste of time...

Oh alright thanks, I guess if I go with the SS Fascia it'd be for looks then.

Looks and there is some aerodynamic advantage to the lower portion of the SS fascia according to GM.

go with the SS bumper imo. Also, you forgot that to repaint the SS bumper itself will cost the additional paint job cost. So really, you aren't just spending 70 bucks more. Just FYI.

Bumpers don't come pre-painted lol.

But yeah, mail slot is not functional... you can put some LED strips in there though =D
