Help!! Curb damage
Hey guys, gals,
i am in the midst of getting the car towed to the dealer as this morning I hit a curb from sliding while trying to make a turn (icy conditions). My traction control light and "staliback" message displaying on the board are on. Now my question is what could be the extent of the damage? As I tried to steer, I have to dramatically turn the steering the opposite direction in order to drive straight. As I limped it home I parked with the steering wheel straight,and as I got out to inspect I noticed the wheel that hit the curb is till turned in turning position. Could this be a control arm, end link, bearing issue? Just want to get an idea of extent of damage so if I have to I'll have my insurance pay for it. Thanks |

No idea what's actually wrong but from what I've seen and heard it could be A LOT of money. Or not much at all.
edit: some guy in a thread a few weeks ago hit a curb and had thousands in damages from just the wheel. |

Likely a bent tie rod, at the very least.

I heard some clicking and such and what also seemed like a sound similar to TC going off.

You would have to hit the curb pretty hard for it to cost thousands of dollars.

And defiantly there is a significant wobble as well when it was limping home.

It's impossible to know the extent of the damage and cost of repairs without someone of knowledge looking at the car. Guessing how much it may or may not be won't helpful at all. You're going to have to wait until it is put on a lift and inspected to know how much damage was done and how much it will cost to repair.

There was another thread like this. It was his buddy who curbed it hard and I think he paid somewhere around $900 to get it fixed.
