You can of course swap gears in your V6 however the rear end in the SS is different so not those particular gears from a 1LE, you can make them work in a V6 but you'll need to do more than just swap ring and pinion, i.e. half shafts, diff etc. I am not sure what gears are available for your V6 but Im sure google would be your friend

Edit: So far I have found that 3.55 is available for a V6...

Edit again: it is my opinion and I believe shared by many that a gear swap is one of the top 3 mods you can do to your car if you are a power junkie. it changes the feel drastically and gets more power going forward for cheaper than a lot of other things. Other nice mods (at least for V8) is long tube headers w/hi flow cats, a tune, and drag radials.

When installed by your dealer they will carry a 3/36 warranty and will not void your vehicle warranty. From the ZL1, the short-throw shifter will also be available and will also have the warranty. For hardcore racing use the ZL1 driveline, including the half-shafts and differential, is also available as an off-road use only part.

Head to chevroletperformance.com to download the 2013 performance parts catalog. www.chevroletperformance.com

Hope this helps!
Thank you for the extra info on warranty coverage after a gear swap.

At this time the 3.91 kit is available for SS models only. Do you think there is interest in a performance gearset for V6 models?

I'm talking about a kit from Chevrolet Perfromance that includes a recalibration and dealership warranty.
