Planetary Annihilation - RTS Project Proposal

Hey all, this isn't mine, but I am trying to get word out about this.

The main website with information and background, and the kickstarter below it:

http://www.planetaryannihilation.com/

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...generation-rts

There's a kickstarter and paypal, and the kickstarter is at about 500k of the 900k they need to get the project guaranteed. There are different tiers that you can pledge to, with different rewards for those tiers.

For those that haven't used a kickstarter, you don't give money in hopes that something happens. You pledge money such that if the budget is achieved with enough pledges, then the money is sent along.

Anywho, being a fan of Total Annihilation and RTS' (in spite of not being very good at them), I highly recommend looking into the game and even making a pledge. The scale and feel from the renders has me really excited, and I am looking forward to hearing more and more about the game.

Tolal Annihilation was an awesome game.

It was redone recently in a much more modern version that was quite good.

If you haven't already checked out Supreme Commander, you should

Indeed, I am rather excited. I never played the SupCom games...my computer when they came out wasn't enough to handle them and I haven't had any inclination to play them since TA scales well enough.

I ended up deciding to forgo my next Camaro mod so that I could get pretty well into the higher tiers of contributions.

I'll be in both alpha and beta, so depending on whether they want an NDA or not, I can report out on stuff and try to do some screen captures and possibly video as well.

Now we just need to hit some of the stretch goals so that we don't have to wait for expansions and whatnot to get the content!

They just announced next stretch goal of lava and metal-based planets, and more SWAG for people at the $95 and above mark in the form of miniatures.

Yeah, first stretch goal hit, I'd bet they hit at least the 2nd before the time is up, probably even the 3rd. I've been upping my commitment each time they hit a goal, at the $50 level right now. Trying to decide if I want to up it to $100 or not, will have to give my finances a look to see if I can swing it

Galactic Wars is gonna get in! less than 50k away!

Total Annihilation, best RTS of all time. I've played that game for over 15 years and its still awesome. Didnt have a ton of artifical limitations to make the gameplay seem deep (COUGH STARCRAFT) like 12 unit selection, roll to hit system, and the worst idea of balance ever... Rock paper sissors. All that game does is cater to the crackhead clicking crew.

I'm psyched! Upped my pledge to $100 Hope it ends up getting $2 million so we can get the nice orchestral soundtrack!

All done, finished at $2,228,344 for kickstarter, and $101,876 from paypal.

We hit all the stretch goals!

Good stuff, very much looking forward to alpha/beta and being able to contribute to the development of the game.
