Out on the street you don't have the room to crank up the RPM to spool the turbos at a high level. And, keep in mind that as you shift you dump boost and start over....

We prefer to use superchargers on street cars because on the street TQ is more important than HP.

Turbos work great on small engines on the street, but superchargers are the way to go on a large displacement street car.
Totally disagree. Go drive a TT car with twin 56mm. No lag issues, 750ftlbs in midrange.

Turbos will make more power, more torque. TT, meth and ~800rwhp easy. Sell headers, sell CAI for money back.

Unreal is correct. not much lag with twin56.
I had the laptop hooked up on my car. took it for a drive.
The engine was at 3000rpm,I went to WOT and i let off maybe 2 seconds at the most because it broke loose pretty quick.
Anyway, i was looking at the data, sure enough,i went to WOT around 3000rpm and lt was showing I released at 4700rpm. It hit 18psi of boost.

All the parts from GM to go with it were 2900.00
Plus 1500.00 to install, tune and Dyno again,
about 1000.00 in misc parts like injectors, larger pulley and belts

So I will be around 6K or so in, shop owner says we will be around 600 at wheels, 7-8 lbs max.

The Turbo kit was 5300.00 not including injectors and a few other parts, plus install.

So I will hopefully save a few K, plus I think moding it like a ZL1 will maybe add a little more value to a larger group of peeps. The other thing was the headers I just put on would have to come off, wasting money and making the car quieter, and I LOVE the sound now.

Learning as I go, it's been a long time since I have been this into cars (Kids and build homes for a living so it's been all trucks)
Who said you had to remove the headers?! Maybe if you went the turbo route, but you should be able to keep them on any supercharged setup, so long as you have enough fuel.

This pulled 439 RWHP

It's fast, but not scary, I want scary!

BUT, I am trying to ballance throw away money, as I know I will not get it back....

So, having said all that, I am being quoted a Turbo with 6-7LBS, that he says will get me to 600 RWHP for around 6500.00

Or a SC that will will about be close to 7lbs, that will get my at 600 RWHP for 8500 or so.

Not building to resale, but should I ever resale, will one be more desired than the other?

Also, once I put 600 to rear wheel, will other mods be needed to support HP?

Like I have said before, I just like to go fast, not the most up to date on how to get there

Dropped off at Lethal Performance this morning, Will be moving a little faster by Monday!!

Bought a factory ZR1 supercharger 500.00
2600.00 in parts from GM
2300.00 in fuel injectors, pulley, belt and labor to install, tune and Dyno

5400.00 All in, thinking 600 + or - at rear wheel Cant wait!

I know you already have the supercharger but in my quest to run compound boost (turbos and supercharger) we hit a wall on the supercharger intercooler bricks and I took my car to the Texas mile with no supercharger, just turbos...big turbos and big housings with slow spool then instant hit, ..... talk about scary....lol. Imagine a 1000 whp gain across about 1500 rpm... that is what you call a power hit. It is so undriveable on the street it is laughable. I'm still smiling thinking about the tires it destroyed. In no way was the car set-up to be a drivable turbo only car.... but it was fun.... and scary.

I'm assuming your dissatisfaction is based on sound?

A turbo will act like 1/4 of a muffler, hence why turbocharged cars sound more "refined" than their NA counterparts.

I'm guessing you want a lil more rumble out of your V8 now?

Here is a product that might interest you: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=370933

Correct me if all of my assumptions were wrong .

Got it back yesterday! Pulled 605 at the wheels. LOVE IT! It definitely makes you pay attention when you mash it. Coming home I was in 4th cursing around 55, I dropped into 3rd and mashed and it broke the rear loose, something it never had.

Kenny Bell would be my last choice for boost on these cars.

And a single 35R would be WAY too small. You run a single 35r on a 1.6-2.2L Honda motor, not a 6.2L. Dual 35Rs or equivalent is decent and has done 800-1000rwhp on Camaros time and time again.

Wrong. Properly sized turbos will make more torque and horsepower than a comparable supercharger setup. Especially turbos versus a centri blower. You might get close with a huge Whipple, but it's taking way more HP to turn than turbos being spun by exhaust gas.

Awesome that you are happy with it! When it gets old you can pulley it down or add a cam. Or both! The little TVS1900 of the LSA blower is good for around 720-750rwhp on a ZL1 fully tapped out. Not sure on the higher compression motor you have.
