SS Stock Exhaust waking up?!

So I'm shortly over 2000 miles. Is it just me or is the stock exhaust sounding better. Tonight I was standing outside my Camaro and it sounds like a V8. No, I'm not drunk. Anybody else notice this?

They do sound better the more miles you get on them. I am almost 4600 miles and it sounds Very different than when I got her!

I haven't noticed any difference in mine. Still sounds weak at start up/idle compared to my 4th gen. I will be dealing with that forthwith. The car is getting quicker all the time, though.

I've put over 1100 miles on mine since I got her two weeks ago and I have really noticed a difference in the past 100 miles or so. I thought I was hearing things at first, but I guess I am not the only one.

VERY good to know! Just the other day somebody asked me to rev the engine & I noticed it sounded rather weak. I only have 400 miles on it so I expect a lot of the "waking up" is yet to happen. Looking forward to putting miles on it now.

At about 1900 miles now and I've noticed more 'tone' from the exhaust but also more noticeable switch when it hits AFM mode. (more vibration/sound)

I noticed the same thing as well. Could be from all the unburned gas (carbon) accumulating in the muffler insulation.

Trust me, at 12,000 miles it sounds very different from brand new

Yes this is normal. Takes a few thousand miles to "burn-in" an exhaust.
