I like to consider myself a patient woman.
So after being told by my dealer that they had allocation, I have now been told that they do not. I ordered in late June, was given an eta of late Sept., and was still at 1100 yesterday. I was also told they have 3 Camaros ordered there and mine was #1. Now they tell me they "don't have allocation and usually don't get one - the car will be considered a priority because it's already sold."
Uh, yeah, mine and everyone else's. I like to consider myself a patient, easygoing person, but I'm...what was the word used in Gladiator? Vexed. I, ladies and gentlemen, am vexed. My questions to you: What would you do? Would you go elsewhere? Will I be able to get my $1000 deposit back? And if I stick w/ this dealer, how long will it be to get it if they -don't- have allocation? |

It will be a long time if they don't get allocation. They have to have that first. This is actually rediculous having to wait this long and some people have gotten theirs in a month and half. If you can get your deposit back go to another dealer. I've been waiting a long time too and they failed to advise me of the process when I ordered. "Oh yeah, It will be here in three months" they said. No car yet.

I went through the same thing...ordered in March and finally came to the realization that they were misleading me in August...I am a slow learner and didn't want to believe that they were being untruthful and just trying to string me along for a sale. I cancelled that order (which is still at 1100) and ordered with a dealer with an open allocation at MSRP. I have a TPW of 9-14 and should have my car in Oct. Confront them and ask for your deposit to be returned and order from a respectable dealer with an open allocation...you will not be disappointed!

First, I would post the name of the dealer on here and inform the dealership that you've posted negative feedback about them on a site with over 15k potential buyers.
Second, I would call CamaroScotty.

My parents ordered their Cadillac from this dealer and raved about them. I honestly don't think they're being dishonest so much as they're just uninformed. The salesman actually told me (the female customer, gotta love it) I "seemed to know more about it than they did." ...talk about instilling buyer confidence. |

I would check on getting back the deposit and going elsewhere. There are plenty of good dealers out there that aren't going to give you the run around. You might also check spastic squirrel and see if they have been getting camaros for their dealership. Maybe they are telling you no allocations and then ordering for themselves. Either way, doesn't seem like a good thing from that dealership.

Get your $ back and find another dealer. My dealer had allocation and I got my car in 31 days from the day we went 1100. You shouldn't have to wait any longer than 45 days to get your car.

You were lied to. That's enough to find another dealer. Second they have no allocations. Another reason to find another dealer. Your deposit was for a Camaro to be delivered around the date they told you. Being that they lied to you, they'd better refund your deposit ASAP or else that's a little thing called fraud. If you stick with this dealer (no reason to stick with them IMO) with no allocation then you'd get a Camaro, maybe with all the features you want, when they do away with the allocation system. Maybe next year some time? Why wait? There are a number of great dealers to deal with. Find an honest one that sells at MSRP and only use them. Definitely warn other members here on this forum to stay away from them and post your city/state so others (like Scotty) can help you find a reputable local dealer.

there are a few black ones that are already at the dealers..
look under commercial vendor classifieds > autos and scan a few of the entries. You should be able to find one on the lot set up the way you wanted it, or an already placed order that is enroute. There were at least 5 black ones that i found that could be yours with a phone call. |

Personally find another dealer. They should know when they are getting allocations. I can tell you what we have for this month in allocations easy.
