I know this sounds stupid but the first thing that came to mind was, Is the stability control intervening adding brakes at that speed causing the smell? Definately not if you have nannies disabled. Which prompts the question, what mode do you use when drag racing? All you? or #5 launch mode?

For an example I have a 2014 with Cam, headers, 10inch pulley, Jtr tunes, CAI etc. 15k miles. Nitto nt05r tires 1.70 60fts. I was low on boost due to the bypass being stuck so I have to go back to the track and try again.
I have been using the push button 7 secs and disable all, launch at low rpm and roll into throttle once locked up. I know I am losing time with that style but wanted to keep the car together. I have line lock installed. I only smelled clutch once at the track and don't see slippage on the street (yet). One run I stayed on line lock and tried to shift while heating tires. Smelled something but not sure if clutch or not. Still had a good run time and top end 130mph. Local guy will do remove and replace for about 700$ labore plus clutch so may just pop in a new stocker for now for general purpose and to be fresh. DB |
