Toyota brainwashed people in the mid 90s. Their build quality is still mid 90s. They are still trying to live off that legacy....but Americans are still buying it.....I know these Toyota buyers aren't even stepping foot on Chevy dealers to cross shop. The few Toyotas that get traded in at my dealership...I go drive to see what the hype is about. Interiors are WAAAY more ugly and plastic than Chevys!!!!

I dont get the import hype!

My 2010, Battery Terminal issue recall, A/C drain filled car with water, lower control arm broke at sway bar connection and lifters sounding like they where going out.

My 2013, so far bad passenger door alignment waiting to for body shop to be free to fix, it is not lined up with the body and it hitting the lower striker and has worn the striker flat. Rattle in back passenger area, probably related to dealer installed blade spoiler.

On your spoiler you may have the old lost nut problem. The dealer may have not used thread lock on them before installation and one or more have come off and is rolling around inside the trunk.

Neither am I. Unless it's German or Italian (and greater than 200k) I will stay away from imports.

Both of my Camaros were awesomely well put together. There were times when I read horror stories from others that I wondered if my car was perhaps an anomaly. I know it's hard to reconcile with someone who's been "bitten" by a faulty issue on their car, but JD Powers is a straight shooter who poll probably every new car owner asking the same questions. Their statistics and results are generally irrefutable.

I have one of the GMC pickups bought used with 34K miles on it and it is as solid as the proverbial anvil, so, to me, the awards in these categories were well deserved.

Congratulations GM...ya done good!!!

Sorry I beg to differ. Had a '10 LS3 SS and that thing was far from reliable. The first year I had mine, the car was almost in for service every month for something! Lights(twice), steering wheel, speakers(four times. Just sold the car never got fixed), wiring, chair, suspension, brakes (twice), rattling in the cabin that never got figured out where it's coming form and never got fixed, etc... So yea. Reliable? Ummmmm.... Not really.

Fun and badass? Yesss.

Lemon? Well I have 4 more friends that have the same exact car different years that have as long list of problems that I had.

And my Mom drives a '10 Cadillac and she's just having as many problems as I did. Also my step dad drives an '11 Expidition and he's even on a worst condition.

And for Imports. My family runs a school in the Philippines and we use Nissan for our school buses. One of our earlier school bus have already cycled its odo twice back to zero and its still going strong. No break downs what so ever. The only thing that got replaced are are Probly just the batteries.

Okay... that's 5 people with problems. Compared with the thousands of people with minor to no issues.

2010 was the first model year of a brand new car too. Expect some issues.
