Ford has a V6 performance package on their mustangs, so why don't GM follow suit? Not everyone wants to buy a gas guzzling V8.

OK. A performance upgrade may be warranted for the V6 model. But it is not the FE4 1LE package that the SS has.

At the fest Al O. mentioned to me there is a v6 version equipped with 1le like parts that is being tested.

GM offers a brake package for the V6

I would find it interesting that one would want $5000+ worth of options (1LE + Recaros), but not want to at least get the 1SS.
Most dealers have a hard time selling $2000 seats because most regular car folk are not willing to pay that for them.

I remember reading something about this a while ago. GM has made every possible package in the 5th gen Camaro except for a V6 Camaro suspension handling package. All they really need to do is install 1LE suspension parts (plus wheels/tires) on a V6 Camaro. I bet it would sell well and have similar track times compared to a modern 1LE (due to lighter weight).

Those options would push a V6 Camaro into SS pricing territory but if somebody wants it, why not? If this was offered on the upcoming 6th gen I would definitely go for it.

Chevrolet Performance now offers a variety of street-level performance parts for the Camaro, both V8 AND V6, including the 1LE suspension system, ZL1 brakes, SS brakes for V6 Camaros, the underhood crosstower brace and more.

Best of all, unlike aftermarket parts these components won't void your factory warranty and they are designed, engineered and validated by the team that engineered your Camaro. The Camaro community asked for these parts and Chevrolet listened!

You can download the Chevrolet Performance catalog at: http://www.chevroletperformance.com/Parts/catalog.jsp
