Engine sounds so quiet

Hi Fellow Camaro drivers =D

I just recently got my Camaro, I drive an automatic V6 1LT... I've noticed from the inside of the car, the car is EXTREMELY quiet, which is pretty cool. But from the outside, I've been approached by people saying that they have never heard a muscle car that sounded so quiet.

I've only driven my Camaro 192miles about 350 km (I'm Canadian), it's hardly broken in. So my question is, Is the Camaro just a quiet muscle car? Or is it because I haven't broken it in? I'm not about to remove my mufflers or anything, but I expected the Camaro to sound a bit more mean =p

I haven't heard a V6 camaro yet, but even the V8's are real quiet, too quiet when stock.

3000 miles on my 1LT, a little drone at 2500-3000 rpm, but nothing crazy. Yeah, real quiet car! Enjoy

That's why I put in a CAI, and I have LT headers and a cat back exhaust on order. More power! More sound!

There's a thread on how to fix that problem with your V6.

Well I wouldnt really call the Camaro being quiet a "Problem". Well, if you all have the same experiences, then I feel a bit better. Phew, i thought I had some faulty Camaro that makes no sounds xD

Thanks guys!

I thought the same thing as you...this is really quiet...not what I was expecting. I know another Camaro chick that had "a couple of mufflers removed". (if I understood correctly) Anyway, hers sounded like what I thought it would to begin with. Not too loud and obnoxious but enough to be heard. It was sweet!! I'm thinking about doing the same thing. It can always be reversed...

during dyno day here in OKC, my car was getting loaded and someone looked over at me and said, "is your car even on?" going after all the corvettes, and SS's, it sure sounded quiet until you mash down on the pedal. IMO i like the quietness esp since i drive 160 miles a day for work. i too have an automatic v6
