Camaro 6: Much more modern interior and amenities. Rear seat when you want to cruise with the family. At this point longer warranty. Fresher design. LT1.

C6: The bargain performance option if you want to track, mod, or just cruise. Removable roof option (Grand Sport, etc). Good deals on just about every combo/trim out there. Can actually buy now and not worry about first year markup or new model kinks.

If I were going to track or worry about performance numbers I would keep my C6Z. But I am looking for an all-around cruiser with a rear seat.

I currently have a base LS2 with Z51, exhaust, and tune. I'm wondering how close the new Camaro will get to it performance wise. Around 50 more ponies at the crank, but still a little heavier. Looking forward to the MRC though!

I bought the C6 a little over a year and a half ago to hold me over for a C7, but with a new wife, the 2SS Camaro is probably a better option... Still don't really want to go the wrong way with performance

So some super quick not super accurate estimations:

C6 Corvette weight: ~3200 lbs (something like 3179)
Camaro 6 weight: ~3700 for SS

C6 Corvette power: 400 hp with the LS2
Camaro 6 power: 455 hp with the LT1

C6 Corvette lb/hp: 8
Camaro 6 lb/hp: 8.13

Could be pretty close to on par with the MRC and such!

If you're talking auto vs auto, I think the gen 6 will be about as fast as a LS3/6l80 C6 Corvette. It should be a little bit faster than a LS2 4l65 Corvette.

The LT-1 has a much better torque curve than the LS2/lS3, which doesn't translate into peak hp/torque. 8l90 is an improvement over the 6l80e too in which more power will get to the ground and faster shift speeds.

Awesome points! Here's to hoping!

(I do have the auto C6, I was fighting Houston rush hour traffic everyday when I got it as my DD. I'm thinking I'll go manual with the next car being west of Nashville now.)

Sorry but the 8spd 6 gen Camaro will walk a 5th gen ls3 Camaro every single time, take into consideration the weight loss and the 8spd will be faster than the manual, not even close.

Camaro vs Corvette, ilirg. Not Camaro vs Camaro. He just accidentally wrote "C6 Camaro" instead of "C6 Corvette", I think.

To clarify, C6 Corvettes were offered from 2005-2007 with the LS2 motor. From 2008-2013 they had the LS3. I have the former.

Ahh if that's the case than I apologize, and agree with that assessment.

Compared to stock I would say edge to 16ss maybe. Very close. If you have full exhaust ( headers) and tune. No contest your likely going to be significantly faster. Just cat back and tune I'd still say the vette by a smidge.

Isn't the bone stock ls2 record high 11 range?

I see the new Camaro juuuuust edging out the LS2 Vette. The LS3; however, I do not see it. Time will tell.
