Hey guys. I drive for a living these days. Now just think about if you were driving a cube van, 18 wheeler, things like that...would shoulder checking do you any good? I saw an article from GM a while back that said how to said up your mirrors. Most people have them set up wrong. When you set up the mirrors in this fashion, it eliminates most blind spots. It takes a while to get used to having them set this way as most of us have been using the mirrors wrong, but once you get used to it, change the mirrors back to the way they were and you can see how wrong it was.
If i can find the article I will copy and post it on here. |

There are no blind spots if you adjust the mirrors correctly and use them. True on any vehicle.

anyone who complains about the camaro's visibility isnt used to using their mirrors. While I usually do a "head check" before merging, that's mostly due to habit from riding motorcycles.
I have been doing one thing for years that makes life SO much easier when driving. I position the side mirrors directly at "the blind spot", or outward from teh normal position of looking down the side of the car. This allows me at a glance to see if someone is there, and if I need to look further behind the car, instead of glancing with my eyes, a glance with a slight head turn will change the viewing angle enough to where you can see straight down the side of the car. At that point, looking over my shoulder is just an "old habit". Try it out, it's worked awesome for me (thanks for that tip Dad!)

I've used these stick on mirrors for about 20 years on heated and non-heated mirrors, never a problem. Once you use them its almost impossible to go without them. As a matter of fact, I've always picked one up before I drove to the dealer to pick up my cars. Cost less than $5.00 at any auto parts store.
One thing that is a pain about the Camaro is parallel parking. Its tough gauging how far you are from the car you're backing up to.

You'll get used to it, but the visibility is horrible.

One of the first things I did when I sat in a 2010 SS was check the blind spots, it's pretty bad but you'll probably get use to it.

Bad Spots?? You think???
Yea............they are pretty bad. But I am learning to use my mirrors and being "AWARE" of others around me. |

It takes a tad bit to get used to. You look, then you realized you did not see what you needed to see, and you look at your mirrors. This is not a big deal, it is just something you need to adjust to. The mirror is a blind spot if you try to ride high on the seat. Put it where it should and it is not such a big issue.
I am good with these areas at this point. It is way cooler driving than worrying about these issues.
