Big grin
I didn't think an early morning drive could be as "interesting" as an early morning ride on two wheels, I was wrong. I love this car!

I leave early for work every day just to take the long way.

My 68 gets all the looks but my ZL1 puts a perma-grin on my face every single time.

^ The cornering, the sound, the acceleration is there besides the looks. As someone humorously said in a different thread "don't drive the ZL1 so you won't know what your missing". If you are like us and enjoy that sort of thing. Any Camaro might make you happy, but the silly giggle the reviewers do on youtube is spontaneous and the best way to describe the feeling.
https://youtu.be/RmCiuPEtuIo?t=416 If the feeling fades add more mods Here is another example: https://youtu.be/JY44Eo0a7xU?t=302 I thought of the word I'd use "intoxicating". If you want to watch the linked videos notice how sober they are for the first 5min blah blah gauges dash...then hit the go pedal and it's like they had several shots of liquor. In the 50th state of Hawaii, wherever I drive there is traffic congestion and the highways are like driving on de-militerized zones. I am lucky to get a stretch of 2-3 miles to blast off and go like 70 mph and that is like 5am-6am in the morning. Never the less I take my chances, looking for traffic and the Popos.
People always tell me like, "why do you buy a fast car for when there's no where to go that fast?" I tell them whenever I get in the car to drive, I always get a RUSH driving my car. The funny thing too is that when I am going 70 mph on the freeway I always find cars, vans and trucks going fast too. They speed up to get a look at the black car going fast. A lot of times those vehicles are old junkers too. LOL. But that's living in the 808 State! Alooooha! Haaawayan dats why!! |

Sometimes just the small things give you that big grin. I put a 1le suede steering wheel and shifter/boot on yesterday and I'll be smiling every time I shift.

These cars can do that to you, no matter what time of day.

My favorite "grinable" activity is when I have a passenger and I look over as we come up on a turn and ask "should I hit the brakes"?
It is a tough call on acceleration vs handling. |

I've never enjoyed being a passenger during aggressive driving, even when I know the pilot has a lot of skill and experience. But I let my long time friend drive the ZL1 in some twisties and I was grinning from that side of the car too. Not as much as he was though.
