Texas Petition to abolish the frt. lic. plate. - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Although this doesn't pertain to only Camaros, I have the moderators permission to post this request.

After all the various discussions on whether or not to display the front plates on our Camaros in states that require a front plate, I did some research on how many states only require a single rear plate. If the internet is up to date and correct, there are currently 19 states that do not require a front plate. In searching on what other states did to abolish the front plate, I came across a 2009 Texas petition to eliminate the need for a front plate. There are currently 20,000+ signatures on the petition. I would urge anyone from Texas that wishes, follow the link and sign the petition and if possible forward this link on your emails.

It may or may not do a bit of good, but it only takes a minute and it sure can't hurt a thing.

There may be other states with similar petitions, so others that are interested need to search out your state.

I sure hope you have better luck than what we had in California.

Early this year, someone set up a petition to get rid of the front plate in California and I signed it.

The only thing happened since then was that the state is near bankruptcy again.

I sure hope we don't get sold to Mexico for some quick cash to refinance the new health plan or bailout social security.

Laugh, there are Goldwings with airbags...

Some idiot freshman state congressman trying to make a name for himself a number of years ago tried to get a seatbelt law passed for motorcycles...

I signed it...moving our cars to Texas next week...I am not installing front plates I'll just take my chances. I'll put one on the daily driver, but not the others. Lived in Ohio & Ontario (they require a front plate) and have never put them on.

No, but they come AT you! I got a warning ticket from my (neighborly) State Trooper in my small little town. He let me know he lives in my community & he'd be "watching" for me in the future. Nice guy, hunh? Funny how the Sheriff's truck doesn't have a front plate. Gees.

I'll go sign it, but we gotta get it to the legislature for a bill to be passed.
