Haven't had to use it yet but Ted has me carry Torco on trips etc. Been told next best thing to race gas-can't say from experience though. Ted will get it figured out!

Yeah I've looked at your slip a bunch over the summer, one of the data points I looked at. To be honest on a good track I don't need drag radials I really don't have enough converter. But my local track gets crappy and they help then.

Hmmm maybe I should try a little Torco or something, in case I'm getting a little KR early on. I honestly think if I keep playing with it and start using the HPT I got I can get the car to go quicker. Hats off to those tuners who know how to tune the 6L80E transmissions - The number of screens is a bit skeery.

I agree with John. I went 12.40 on stock pirellis in 1100ish da. Your mph is way low in the 1/8 and 1/4.

R/T.......... .197
60'............. 1.918
330'........... 5.298

660’ mph... 89.74
1000'.......... 10.411
1320'.......... 12.402

Name of the track: Memphis International Raceway (Motorsports Park)
Date of pass: 3-31-12 @ 12:51 A.M.
Weather conditions: (include Density Altitude, if known): DA 1058 (corrects to 12.26 @ 114.25)

And you shouldnt need race gas to run deep in the 12's. Sure it will help running more timing, but it should run that on 93. The iat timing modifier pulls timing based off intake air temp, and in the staging lanes, heat soak is a killer. Keep the hood up until its your turn. My car on the 12.40 pass was still pulling ~3* of timing due to heat soak on my 12.40 run because I did my burn out and had to wait on the goober next to me to burnout 2 times and stage......he ran 14's....lol.

If I nail it from a dead and I mean nail it and it hooks.....it feels really lazy. My buddy said on his car he gets knock retard when he nails it, he has numerous data logs that show that.

And the DA that you ran at (-450') is also worth 2-3 tenths over what John ran at. Knock 2 to 3 tenths off either John's or Rhino's time for the DA and that's a significant difference. Apples to apples and the timeslips make more sense. Still an impressive time for your mods though.

Yup, burst knock due to the sudden change in airflow. I'm currently running stock burst knock settings and if I stab it from a stop I'll see the timing pull last for about .35 seconds in a datalog. What's funny though, completely disabling burst knock versus leaving it at the stock settings has had virtually no effect on ET when compared to runs made the same night (corrected for DA) with short times within .02 of each other.

Torco will definitely help. I use it every trip to the track, one can with a full tank.

The da here right now is -541 woohoo. My car feels slower in cooler weather with the Vararam wedge tho..... Feels like a beast on a hot day tho. I think I need a retune

I will say hehe that I've gone so far as to print off some of the slips and bring them with me to the track, I have all the 12.1-12.4 slips practically memorized.

I'm watching the air big time I missed some some good 2 weeks ago couldn't get out. I'm hoping personally to get out a few more times.

Back to OP, gotta figure out how to get the car to leave right first, and you'll go 12's right there. Then you have to check over shift points and start watching your coolant temps right before you make a hit.

Is there a chain store I can buy it from or just the Internet?

The humidity slowed your car down .3-.4. Also its down on power out of the hole, should be 1.8x's with your setup. Its getting KR and pulling timing.

I went 13.3 @ 107 at indy last weekend with a stock SS on radials. Coolant was around 180 leaving the line. My 60 was 2.03 on radials and has been 1.96 on pzeros.

I'd do the fuse pull at the track to be safe and put some good fuel in it. THen log and see if your getting knock and its pulling timing.

I'm in the same boat, poking around for it too.
