Don't forget the Hot Wheels toys were modeled after a car....

So it's really ... He wants a toy that's modeled after a car that's modeled after a toy that's modeled after a car.

Sounds like an Abbot and Costello topic.

But ya, I'd want one as a 1:18 or 24 as well.

Hell I don't own a HWSE but I'd still love a model of one.

I'm anxiously awaiting for them to make diecasts of some of the prostock and Grand-Am series Camaros.

That's what I'm talking about! Owners would not be the only ones who would want one.

And more specifically, this:
"Will buyers get a Hot Wheels version of their car when they purchase?

Felix Holst: We’re working through that scenario. It’s something, that from the very outset, we wanted to do. Obviously, in muscle-car circles, numbers-matching is something that’s very important and we want to take that a step further.

We’re trying to look at the logistics that you’d get a numbers-matching, limited edition Hot Wheels car with your purchase of a real car. Logistically, it’s not as easy as you might think, but it’s something we’re still committed to try and work out, because we believe it would really be the icing on the cake."

I guess it must have fell through huh?
I met Atom Barry (the guy that designed the Hotwheels car, the Synergy series and the Transformer cars at Camaro5 fest in Indy last month. I own a 2SS HWSE Drop top. He specifically asked me if we got a toy car with the real one. When I told him no, he was genuinely disappointed. He said that was in the plans all along. He said to me "I'm going to talk to Fred when I get back". But, the Chevy guys did tell me, that the HWSE owners were going to get something special from Chevy/GM in October.

The Beard,

Good to see you on here again! I have been busy customizing my HWSE machine... almost done!

I have been collecting everything I can find that is HWSE. All I have found is:

1:64 HW SHOWROOM car (like you, I have bought a ton of these... keeping about 10, gave another 10 away to friends' kids and my nieces and nephews)

Chevrolet THE BLOCK magazine, talking about the HWSE concept.

1:64 inside a plexiglass case, that they gave away at SEMA

1:64 AUTO SHOW car (given away at SEMA show)

plus a few clippings from magazines I found... making a binder with all this stuff, including my build sheets, order information, Chevrolet order logs, etc.

What else do you have, or have you found?

Steve

P.S. Didn't know if you saw, but there are only 1,524 of them total!!!
