Ford has been doing the same kind of commercials for a few years now... Nothing really new.

A lot of people have preconceived negative opinions about Chevys either heard from other people or from a bad experience years ago, and all they are trying to do is get people to take a new look.

I LOVE the Dodge Hellcat commercials but they only appeal to the enthusiasts....which is a small portion of the population.
Overall, I think GM has the better advertising strategy.
Ding ding ding...we have a winner.

The latest Chevrolet commercials are indeed nothing to write home about.

But the Dodge "lolomgHellcatvroomvroomburnoutsmoke" commercials appeal to a very minute amount of the population. When the vast majority of folks out there no longer know much or care much about cars, the burnouts and fast driving seem wasteful, excessive, and annoying to them.

"Real people, not actors."

Actors ARE real people. As someone who makes a living casting people for television commercials, I can honestly say that whole "real people" thing is a bunch of B.S.

yes!!! Those Dodge ads get me every time. GM needs to reboot their marketing department quicker than Sony reboots Spider Man.

The new Dodge commercials "we make our own monsters" is as bad ass an idea as can be. LOVE it!

If you are already going to buy a Chevy regardless of the ads shown to you, GM's marketing department won't really care about your opinion of their ads. You are not the target audience.

If you weren't going to buy a Chevy and would now consider one, it has been successful.

Even then none of these commercials are trying to do this poorly. I doubt having a 4G connection in your car when you have that ability with cell phones and jetpacks is going to make someone buy a GM

So...Chevy's marketing strategy is geared towards getting complete idiots that know nothing about cars to buy their products, as opposed to Dodge, whose customers would be familiar with horsepower and performance......Interesting....lol....

There are far more idiots than gear heads. And its easier to take their money too.

Now would I like to see GM throw a 6th gen and a C7 into a commercial complete with burnouts and donuts and track footage? Of course. But I'm an enthusiast. I care about performance. Most people these days only care about how many miles they'll get out of a gallon.

I think a simple commercial that explains how Chevrolet has stepped up to the plate and created a product that matches or exceeds the quality of anything coming out of Europe or Asia would go over quite well. It's not rocket science.

And most people aren't rocket scientists

I can't believe how many people in here don't understand the marketing principles at work in these ads.

All you guys that LOVE the Dodge ads, how many of you went and bought a Dodge because if them? None? Okay.

Plenty of people buy cars because a commercial (as stupud as it may be) made them like the looks of a car or were convinced to give something a chance they otherwise might not have.

I'm in a group for GM called My Chevy Community and will try and include some of these comments in the next applicable survey. They had one survey about magazine covers and ads and some didn't even include anything about Chevrolet, they were mostly touchy feely, I selected the one that included a split window Corvette and new Colorado.
