I've been in the Air Force for 23 years and was hoping I would not have to deploy again before I retired. Guess what, Mr. Goverment decided I needed to go one more time. On my way to Afgan, sucks!!!!!!!!! Now I'm going to miss the next 9 months of driving my Camaro.

What's funny is that is the only thing that is on my mind. Anyway, I've got about 4 more weeks till I leave. I'll keep checking the website when I can.

I'm married but this might seem pathetic but right now the only thing on my mind is the fact that the car that I chase for 4 years will be sitting waiting for me to get back to drive. I'm taking pics of my car along with the pics I've got from chasing this thing around the states when I knew it was going to be on display. The first time I saw one was at the Brick Yard 400 in IN about 3 years ago.

Thanks all. What really suck is this is the car that was on the home page with the sunset orange stripes. I was so ready for the spring to get here.

That really sucks... especially since I been in the Air Force for 16 years and never deployed. I have been begging to deploy my whole career. Be safe and hurry back.

Thank you so much for your Service :flag2: Stay safe over there!! I was in AFROTC but just got medically DQ'ed for having had open heart surgery when I was 6, despite the fact that I just had a stress test and finished in the top 5% percentile of my age group.. stupid picky rules, all I've ever done was dream military..

Just remember after those 9 months you'll have plenty of Camaro bonding time!

Man you guys/gals rock. Thanks for the comments. I will take what ever pic I can with me just because. That might sound sort of disturbed, I'll also take some of my wife as well. I just hate the fact that the car I have waited for will be sitting now for nine months. I didn't get it till August, ordered in April, so not a whole lot of summer to drive it after it arrived.

Mark, first of all...thanks for your service, especially for 23 years!

I'm Army (18 years)and I have been over there 3 times for a year each deployment so I know how that feels.

If it makes you feel any better, I haven't even bought my Camaro yet because I am deploying for another 9-12 months later this year so I am putting off my Camaro purchase until I get back in early 2011.

As far as chasing the Camaro for years... I bought a new Tahoe for the family in April '07 and I was tempted to put my Camaro deposit down then but just couldn't afford it at the time. By the time I get back from this deployment, I'll have 2 kids over 18 (hopefully in college with scholarships), and a healthy 2011 Camaro downpayment.

Bottom line...you may miss her, but at least you have her!
