Ok. The new 4.0 hits radio with 4gbyte is 480.00 and the 8gbyte is 530.00. Also they come with DDR 512 memory but you can upgrade to DDR 768 memory for 80.00.

Or one could do those upgrades on his own, buying 8GB SD card and possibly larger DDR2 SDRAM for cheaper

Anybody tried to use a USB HUB? I don't see why it wouldn't work but who knows?
Why a hub? To be able to use the 2 available USB ports for 3 or more connections all in the same time (Center Console, additional HDD, OBD2/BT dongle, etc.)

It's an option that saves you $25.
Hubs generally don't have as much power, and are therefore thought to be unsuitable. I don't know that anybody has tried though.

Have any of the vendors in the U.S. got ahold of these and started selling them?, because I know a couple were talking about it earlier in the thread.

I ordered and paid for my Hits radio (ANCH809SC CA/8300AGSC CA) with Android 4.0! I upgraded to the 8GB & 768 DDR memory. It has the capactive touch screen with the highest resolution of 1024x600. He said this is the best one they make right now so we will see. Price is $610.00 for all that. Shipping is $200.00 on top of that.

Even with shipping and the extra stuff I am buying for this radio like high resolution cameras and USB hub for my center console it is still cheaper than the Mylink upgrade. My thing is I like to be different and have things that not every body has at shows and a lot of people have the Mylink in their newer models. So I sold my Mylink brain and faceplate that I was going to use for that upgrade. I am saving 400.00 plus doing this and it is fully customizable in every way and looks awesome in the car!! He told me when they get everything working on the Android 4.0 he will shoot me a email letting my know there is a software update. Ready to get it put in and play with it. I have already made some cool wallpapers for it when I go to shows this year. Just want to say Thanks to the ones who brought this to our attention and bought one.

Not to be Mr. Negative, but I have not heard anything from anyone about the warranty. If there are no US importers, what happens if the unit fails....it's a long way back to China and I would not like to be looking at a hole in my dash while I wait weeks for warranty service from this company (if they have a warranty program at all). Things do break, so I would be concerned about how the company plans to handle defective/broken units.
Just this aspect prevents me from even considering this unit... |
