Austin Auto show was a success, got to meet Fbodfather, thanks SilverTurtle and Raven - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

This past Saturday an Auto Show was held at the Austin Convention Center and many Central Texas Camaro enthusiasts were allowed in early for a special viewing of 3 Camaros.

It was a gloomy morning (7am on a Saturday, small price to pay for what I will come to find out as the day progresses) with thunder booming in the not so distance...

After a quick speech from Scott, the FbodFather, we headed in to see the cars. They were hidden at first to me, but quickly found them behind the new Avalanche and Tahoe...

My sister was in town from Green Bay and was excited to finally see her car (if you remember she is getting CamaroScotty's first dealer car) and finally get to sit in it. After taking a few pictures for the parents and drooling over the cars Scott Settlemire and John Fitzpatrick gave a quick information Q&A and then let us back at the cars...

It's funny, Even the V6 Camaro KNEW it can take that Challenger any day of the week and was staring it down

My sister and I introduced ourselves to John and had a good conversation with him regarding the ramp up for production and winter snow tires, below is a picture of my sister really trying to get some info from John, haha...

I made sure to get some key shots with the IOM 2SS/RS...

I really like the orange leather in person... not all what I expected, even though I ordered it.

I over heard someone say that John was taking ANOTHER IOM Camaro for a spin around town so I rushed outside to see John use the remote start to startle an older couple who was peeking in the window of the car as it sat on the side of the road.

John gave the gas a few taps for good measure and left in a not so lazily fashion.

After a great show and one of the best days of my life (will stay that way until delivery... July/August... hurry up and get here) We went to Katz's Deli on 6th street in Austin to grab some grub with a few other Camaro5ers. I was able to hang out with SilverTurtle and Raven... And with one of the most notorious on the boards (no not CamaroSpike) I finally got to meet Tag Ur It and his wife. We had a great lunch and afterwards even got to see Tag's car.... even if it was dirty as hell. Austin was in flood watch so it was expected with all the rain.

To top off this great day Turtle and Raven invited us out to dinner as well. We met up with those two, Randy and Linda (who's board names escape me) and who else....

.... Scott The FbodFather himself. We all had a great time and had some good conversation. Turtle... what corvette did you want some information on?? haha
I also found out that Scott has his own wine label that I believe has been a great fund raiser.

All in all it was a fantastic day... I hope that I will be able to continue my friendships with all of my new Camaro5 friends and of course Scott and John.

thanks yall, I was getting excited just writing it today.... 3 days later.
I love the way the Frost Bank is just looming there too, just waiting to see John hitting the streets with the IOM.

It was a definitely a day to remember. As for the wine.... maybe Raven or SilverTurtle can give more insight on it. They have been sold at auction during Camaro events I believe, some for some very high prices.

haha... well what do you expect... Born and Raised in Traverse City, MI.
I got many times this weekend that "She got all the looks in the family" Well I couldn't disagree, haha. There is a thread out here with a few more of her, from when she was looking for a new car a few months ago... she quit that when she found out I put a deposit on a V6 Camaro for her though.

Klye, it was great meeting you and your sister too and d@mnit....I wish I would have gone out with you all for dinner. But...we had to get back home to pick up the kiddos from mom. In all seriousness....when my baby comes in....we are going to have to get together.

Heck...maybe we can do another get together soon anyway?

...and yeah....the SS was FILTHY. Ugh....I hate it..... freakin dust gets in the air and the car is dirty. But dude....you GOT TO see it when it's clean.
