My bad, I didn't even realize this was a Z/28 specific forum, just read the posts and ignored the top. That would explain the strong feelings. Consider me somebody sent to get the discussion going...

1) Actually, it's NOT "plastic"...it made from unobtainium...like the rest of the Z28...

2) Of course...unobtainium weighs virtually nuthin'...gotta help the "handle"...

Welcome 96-10, but please refrain from making an S (or was that SS? SS-SS?) of yourself... Since you've wandered into the ZEE-zone, much discussion has occured here, already. Take a look around. Feel free to peruse this section, further.

For those seeking suspension/brake/chassis upgrades to their "needy SSs", may I suggest: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=93

For those seeking V8 power enhancements (if short on Cialis), may I suggest: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11

...or (if 1 pill won't work): http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=74

For all things ZL1, may I suggest: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=85

This public service announcement is provided by the ZEE-lievers, and is intended for the sole purpose of efficient and proper site navigation. Your boss will approve...

Just in from GM:

The Z28 will have a ZR1 powertrain on the ZL1 suspension platform.

Also, it will be featured in the new "Transformers", "Twilight", "Sex and the City", and all other fanboi/nerd movies that non-car enthusiast see to become car enthusiasts.

Color = most non-important option of the car which fanbois and women make the most important...

Of course I chose hot pink.

To match your satin shorts?! Oh, my stars...are you sure it's NOT gonna be FUSCHIA?!

That will clash with the favored SS "driving apparel"...Top Hat 'n Tails...

...cuz if you's gonna BE impotent, you's gotta LOOK impotent...

Well....... it was down to two choices and the Z/28 lost the coin flip.
The new Berlinetta is getting this setup.

Are you looking at the Z28 as something to compete with the Boss 302 Laguna Seca? No backseat and special programming for track mode?
I wouldn't trade it in right away. heck I more then likely would be upside down if they came out today and said in 2 months the z28 will be on the lots, not going to happen, but. Either way I would end up selling my vert, or get the Z28 as a 3rd vehicle. yes I said 3rd. I count my motorcycle as a DD for the summer. better mileage then the vert and still fun to ride. in the end the Z28 would end up at the track, vir, road atlanta etc. But the Z28 doesn't need the seat removed from the factory, just make it easy to remove. lol. you know how drag racers take stuff out before they go to the track and put it back in when they go home. same thought process.

either way I look at the Z28 as the boss 302 competitor and the ZL1 as the GT500. the 1LE as the SS track pack. just like the GT has a track pack. still have a gap.

I agree. Z28 definitely=boss 302 killer. I also see GM going the smaller displacement route in the near future.

I see them doing that when the DI Gen V v8 hits the streets. Same power out of a smaller engine. But I'm not sure how small they will go. rumor mills says 5.5 for the base vette. wonder if they will make the Z06 a 6.2. then I will say the z28 should have the 6.2. Because the Z06 is the road course car for the vette. the LSA is the baby brother of the LS9. so I can see that not happening also. but we will see in time.
