I got the 3.73s in my 5.0. I've driven a 3.55 and a 3.31 geared 5.0 as well. I've also driven a 2013 Track Pack (3.73s standard on that), and I've driven my buddies 2012 3.73 BBP 5.0 as well. All feel the same stock to me. Feel about as fast as an SS stock for stock. Different mags get different results. Fastest stock times are pretty close for both cars. The SS is a 12 second car as much as a GT is a 12 second car. Look at the fast lists for stock cars on most of their respectable forums, they are about the same. By the way, fastest stock 5.0s had the 3.31 gears.

I went to the dealership and drove your year mustang. I choose the Camaro, I own the SS went to the dealer and tried the new 5.0, I choose the mustang. Fastest stock 5.0s running running 331? Since when does 331's get you down the track faster than 373 gears? Ford must be jacked up, should of been 331 in in the TRACK pack. We've been doing it all wrong! Why the drag racers are going 4.10 is beyond me they should of went with 331. The more you talk the less I think you know. I've been to numerous tracks and have seen what both the 5.0 and SS are putting down, the 5.0 puts down better times.

I don't care which is faster. If I bought my car only for speed, I would have spent much less and bought an old LS1 and beefed it up for MUCH less.

I bought my car for the exterior, the interior, the performance, the comfort, and the fact that I have grown a liking to Ford vehicles more so than GM. And I am sure the exact same answer could come from the Camaro folks. Many of those items I listed are subjective.
Country Music? Rock music? Punk? Pop? Classic? Who am I to tell someone else that their preference is wrong.

Ok smart guy, go look at the fastest stock times and then come back and be a smart ass about the gearing. (I'll make this easy for you, just go here http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...ack-times.html and look at PureStock's fastest run, and take a guess which gears he was running) Being able to put the power down and get a good 60 foot is a bitch on stock 255 series Pirellis on a 3.73 car, and even worse with the non BBP 18" 235 all seasons. So much for me going by the feel of the car and you going by the track times, so yes, silly you. Or you can just keep thinking that magazine racing is the best thing out there and stick with that.

Link you posted, where's the gears their using? 373s hard to gain traction, yes, impossible? No. It takes a driver to plant, not saying anyone here can't. Show me where a stock SS runs 12's like a stock 5.0 can. People done it, sure. Two identical average drivers are going to hit better times in a mustang. It's clear 5.0 runs faster, and you can feel the difference as well as see it at the track
