the scariest thing i have seen in driving in the rain is that the traction control is off. its pouring that heavy.

My SS has a garage to stay in, and I drive my beater GMC Jimmy in nasty weather, but the SS has seen its share of rain - but no hail or snow yet.

I'm south of Houston. These little storms are supposed to keep popping up through the rest of the week. I aint washing the car until next weekend. Going to get dirty anyways with all the lime trucks on 288 dropping that sheet all over the roads.

I don't have any misconceptions that my car will some day be worth 5X what I payed for it. I won't live that long. I bought it to drive and when it gets dirty I wash it. Not a big deal. I don't enter it in car shows so it doesn't matter if every nook and cranny isn't spotless. If you see it going down the road you can't tell it from a brand new Camaro and it has 62K miles on it.

WHAT, you drive your Camaro in the rain. I suggest you do the fuse pull on your brain. After 10 minutes you feel you will drive it in the rain again, consult your physician.

I drive mine in the rain sleet and snow, and when I do I hardly notice it, the car handles awesome in any weather, and believe it or not.....it doesn't melt when it gets wet.
this car was made for driving and that is just what I do to it, ya it has it's dings and scratches and dents, but they are tiny and to me they just add character, I am just waiting until I have a bunch of them and will just take it into the dent doctor and let them have at it. It's a car folks.....just drive it and enjoy it

Which fuses are they? Ill look into it.

Couple of weeks back i drove it in water that had to have been over the bottom of the rim. No other way around it except to drive through it. I don't know how deep it was because I wasn't stopping to get out and check. Its a car, ill keep it a couple of years, maybe less, maybe more depending on what the 6th gens look like. Either way, I'm going to enjoy it.

Well in all seriousness, the ZL1 stock tires are crap in rain at speed. I've had more than one occasion on the insterstate where I've had to slow down to 50-55 and hold the wheel tight and just feel the car float. Just about gives me a heart attack. Would break my heart to wreck this thing.

I'm surprised you survived!
Anyone remember the thread about the guy who wanted to sue GM for faulty Stabilitrak? He was flying down the freeway, self-admittedly speeding in heavy rain and as his car busted loose and slid sideways down the freeway the "service stabilitrak" lights came on. He was confident that it was Stabilitrak's fault that he spun out.

+1. If I get caught in it, oh well but if I can help it, my '13 Cruze is my daily beater that sees all the nasty weather while the beast is parked safely in the garage.
