Stock Driveshaft, aluminum or steel?

Like the topic states. Stocker aluminum or steel? Anyone have any experience with carbon fibre drive shafts on the street and are they durable?? Lastly, anyone making a aftermarket driveshaft yet? Thanks...

According to the catalog the whole thing only weighs 23lbs. so I would say aluminium.

It is a steel unit we have sheered on into already! The factory rubber couplers are both the trans and the diff are the week point as well, specially in the rear diff. The bolts ( all three of them) will snap and cause damage, under high output.

Regards

We are going to offer the following options from DS, should be about 2-3 weeks

3" chome moly rated to 900 hp 185 mph

3.5" chome moly rated to 1000hp 215 mph

3" aluminum rated to 800 hp and a 195 mph

These will all have an adapter to bolt to the rear diff as well, and they are 1 piece.

-Regards

Were working on a 3.5" Aluminum and a 3.75" Carbon Fiber shaft.
Both will use a custom billet pinion yoke so no adapter will be used.
Will also use the large 1350 series u-joints.
We've had excellent results with the carbon fiber driveshafts in the GTO world for daily drivers and track cars.

nice, what are the carbon fibre driveshafts going for$$$$??? What kind of power will the CF driveshafts hold up to? I plan on having a 700HP daily driver with the occasional visit to the track....Thanks.
