D-Day

Thank you to the soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division, 3rd British Infantry Division, 3rd Canadian Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Division, 6th British Airborn Division, 29th Infantry Division, 50th British Infantry Division, 82nd Airborn, 101st Airborn Division; sailors of the Canadian Navy, Royal Navy, and United States Navy; and airmen of the Royal Airforce, Royal Canadian Airforce, and United States Army Airforce; and all the other units of the Allied Forces, who on this day 64 years ago brought the fight for freedom and democracy onto Hitlers doorstep.

Next year on this day I plan to be on the beach in Normandy.

WELL SAID. Sadly, war was so very costly then. No loss is good. But that war claimed many.

Thank you,

Amen to that. My grandfather was on the beach of Normandy. If I recall correctly, he landed on the beach the third day. It was something he'd rather forget.

Thank you to all who gave...

And thank you to all who still give. You have my deepest respect and gratitude.

My grandfather was on the beach also. He was an Army Ranger and was one that had to climb one of the cliffs to take down some guns. Lucky to be alive.
Thank you for every one who has ever fought for our country and freedom from tyrants.
