2011 SS Bluetooth music problem

Hey guys, I have a Galaxy S6 Active and I run my music from the Napster App. Recently, EVERY TIME I get into the car I need to go into the audio menu and select my phone. I shouldn't have to do this, as I never had to do it before with my other phones. Now, for the problem that really has me perplexed. I've had the car since new and I've never had a problem playing music until this phone.

So, I go to the Napster App and begin playing my music through Bluetooth. After a while (10, 20, sometimes 30 mins) the music will simply stop, the phone disconnects and a message appears on the stereo saying something to the effect of "NO COMPATIBLE MEDIA FOUND". I then need to reselect my phone in the audio menu and go through this entire process again. Why?! Why is this happening?! Very annoying to say the least. Please help!

I have a 2012 and have always had to do this. I'm glad you asked this question because I would love if there is a setting I'm missing that always auto connects for me.

It's the radio. The software in the factory radio is mediocre. I had that problem on my '12 as well. You can try getting your dealership to upgrade the firmware of your radio or you can rid of all these technical issue with an aftermarket radio.

Do you have the older "C" series or early "D" series PDIM module? The early PDIM's did many stupid things. More info in this thread...

I have a thread asking this same question. mine has always been that way, with my last phone and my current note 4. I really wish I didn't have to connect for music every time I get in the car. Regular calling Bluetooth connects automatically but not my music.

I'm 99% positive that I've conquered this quandary.

So, my S6 Active obviously plays through Bluetooth; however, if you plug ANYTHING into the USB port in the console (other than your phone), the stereo throws a fit and is ultimately trying to read from both sources and; therefore, gives you the "no compatible media" message. I've now started fully charging my other devices prior to using the car, so I don't have to use the USB port while streaming music.

Ive never plugged anything into my USB, so I guess I still have to figure out my cars situation unless its just the way it is and I have to connect the music Bluetooth every time I start the car.

Is the upgrade only for certain models and/or is it a guaranteed fix?
