It's funny how people want this in their cars, but most people that have it want it out because of the constant issues.

I like mine but it does have it's quirks / issue that become very annoying. Hopefully GM at some point rolls out a fix but who knows when.

Funny, I have a Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH and I can't wait for the Mylink so like that say the grass is always greener...

I have a question and it may be a stupid one. I have a 2013 Camaro with factory nav. My cousin has a 2012 Camaro but was thinking about getting the mylink with nav too. On gmnavdisc.com it says to recieve map updates, you have to enter your vin to get an activation code to update your maps. Is that activation code based on your vin? Also if its based off your vin, will you be able to enter a vin of a 2010-2012 Camaro and it will allow you to install map updates or if you put your 2010-2012 vin, will it give you an error and not allow you to get a code to update your maps on a retrofitted mylink with nav system. Also does anyone know how you can bypass this activation code? When I put my 2013 vin in, it currently says it has the most updated maps so I can't play with it till there is an update but I was wondering if anyone has any inside information.

If it's like the Jeep updates someone will have to crack it.

I would bet that the since you are buying the head unit with nav the head unit will be registered with your vin and there should be no problem putting your vin in and getting updates
just my guess though
