One thing people didn't mention is the L99 is a modified LS3. The auto has VVT slightly different compression and different pistons , lifters and rockers with AFM. overall the same but with variances. The auto in most instances is quicker off the line due to better low end torque but the manual can catch up through the 1/4. All the transmissions are 6 speed denoted on here as either A6 or M6.

Enjoy the car and welcome. Visit the wiki on the site for answers to most questions easily.

Congratulations. Do you want a cookie?

The worst research is done at the car lot, getting info from a salesman!! lol

For example, I already knew the answer but when I asked the guy "Does this SS have the RS package?" his immedidate answer was "No, you can't get the RS option in an SS." !! (when in fact the car I asked about did have it!!)...Just saying, it can be confusing even while "researching".

I hate to disagree but there have been two ls3's that have fallen victim to my little "stock" L99...Thats because I haven't raced three of them yet...lol.Just sayin.

What are trying to disagree with? That the ls3 will catch up? If so you need to run more. I have raced plenty of l99 AND LS3. Good driver on good track and ls3 will run you down after 1000ft. I have an l99 btw. L99 has more low end power under 4200rpm but ls3 owns the top end.

Yes i have beat ls3 as well about 10 times fully stock. But, they were mostly slim and lost mostly slim. Fact is they will still catch up from a worse start. They trap on avg 2 or 3mph faster.

so by this logic do you tell people you have a 3 speed or a 4 speed if you're driving an automatic from the late 90s. Probably not. They market the "6 Speed automatic" because it sounds cool, and people like yourself can say to their buddies with LS3s "hey, I've got a 6 speed too"

Actually "Jedi Master", like most other LS3 owners, I do have a 6-spd manual. It clearly says that in my signature. Your Jedi Mind Tricks are a bit lacking!!!

On the contrary, you played right into my hand.....My Jedi Mind Trick worked just fine. I wanted to see if you'd come back with something clever if I inferred you had the L99. You did...you didn't want to be lumped in with the L99 crowd, and made sure to point out my "error".

You have much to learn about the power of the Force my young Padawan.

Wait a minute...Do you ls3 owners think you're superior to us L99 owners?
