93 z28 question?
Ok so ive been looking for a z28 6 speed for awhile an i found one a 93 z28 6speed with a rebuilt motor and over 2000$ worth of mods for 2500$ but the oil pump fell off so the whole motor has to be pulled to fix 1000$ and the body is a little rough...paint fading clear coat chipping and a fist size dent in the back 1500$ to paint and fix dents so im at 5000 so far.....
Should i spend the money on it? |

Pass, search around some more. I found a 98 Z28 for $7000 in great shape. I wouldn't sell it for $20,000

93 f-bodys are the worst 4th gen to have. They have the older computer system in that are speed density and you have to burn chips to make changes for the tune. If you look hard enough you can find LS1 cars for $3500-$5000 that need a little love.

The biggest reason to avoid a 93, IMO, would be the 3.23 gears and non-vented optispark. Either way, this car seems like a great candidate for someone who has the time and expertise to bring it back to life on their own. If the OP is looking for something to drive, then it's probably best to invest the money elsewhere.

What's wrong with using the Internet and traveling a few hours? I drove 5 hours to get mine. When looking for niche vehicles, it's always best to open up one's search.

Seriously, I will say to you and anyone else on the board. If they find an Fbody out here in the Vegas area and want someone to check it out before they travel all the way out here, I will be more than happy to do so. Weekends are by far the best time for me to do so. Look for what you want and in your price range. It took me almost 2 months to find something and it was WELL worth the wait. Good luck

That just means it's "not to be." You'll find the right one, and when you do, you'll be so glad you waited.
