Can't find the clips for modifying the stock engine cover for S/C

I found them on a parts website once but can't find them for the life of me... someone had some modified mounts so you could mount the stock engine cover (with some modifications of course) with the TVS2300...

Anyone know who it was that sold these?

and you won't find them! Hennessey makes the brackets for the SC cars they do but won't sell the brackets but they'll sell you the entire modified cover for $495 unpainted, $695 painted.

I had my shop modify the stock cover and made the brackets when they installed Maggie on my car. A member in SoCal made his own brackets.

Did you order the brackets? I'd love to dress back up the engine, but not for $500. These are more down my alley.

Yes I did. In addition, they called me and asked if I wanted a set for an HTV or Maggie and of course I have a Maggie so I ordered those.

So their shopping cart says they are for an HTV but apparently they have a set for Maggie too and just haven't updated their cart.

We actually re-designed the kits so we now have 2 different kits available, to fit either Harrop or Magnuson superchargers. Your kit is shipping today. We also have a bunch of these kits going to Camarofest!

If anyone orders a set before the cart gets changed, just specify Harrop or Magnuson in the notes. If not, we will call you to find out.

I ended up throwing mine away. They were crappy quality, didn't fit and just generally looked cobbled together from terrible components.

I chalked it up to a $30 learning experience :(

I have been in the office all week and have not recieved a call from anyone regarding the brackets? I would be happy to try to help but I have to be in the loop to do so.

of all the sets we have sold, I have spoke to one customer in Canada that had an issue fitting the brackets. As to the quality comments, Im not sure what you expect to get, we buy strips of new aluminum material, bend it on a fixture, drill the necessary holes and grind the edges for clearence. Then we paint the brackets and include new hardware.

Same question to El Chorizo, we made every effort to be in contact with you when you ordered, but if you don't tell us you're unhappy, what can I do?

if you guys are having issues with the parts, just call or PM me and I will help resolve them.

Ed,

You nailed the problem right off the bat. You are using aluminum material... thin aluminum, and your instructions call for the brackets to be torqued under the manifold bolts.

The material you use can't stand up to that torque level.

In addition, they are easily bent, look like crap and just generally didn't fit.

It wasn't worth my time to pursue a refund on such a low dollar item, but I would definitely not order them again or recommend anyone else order them until they are made out of stiffer material.

People wanted a low cost option for engine covers to fit their superchargers, and we tried to provide that. This kind of input would have been helpfull, rather than posting negatively about our product. I have seen several members, as well as another company make these brackets out of aluminum, and I also felt it was acceptable.

If we were to change the material to mild steel and re-design to fit better, would you like me to send a set to you? Same offer to SSTony and anyone else that isn't satisfied with the aluminum brackets?

Ed,

I commend you in trying to get it right and work with me. I just don't have the time so perhaps someone else will be able to better assist you.

Thanks for keeping at it.
