My first camaro (second car) was a 1986 IROC with a 305 and a 5-speed. I got it cheap from a friend of the family who was trying to get rid of it (he had gotten it from a guy up in kansas who had been fixing it up for his kid to drive - the engine had been replaced, but the tranny needed work - but the kid decided he wanted a bmw instead when he turned 16. From what I heard, it really broke the dad's heart) and put a little work into it before I had to sell it due to ludicrous gas prices. I was getting 10 mpg in the city and I had to run premium gas - when my monthly gas bill broke 400 dollars, I just couldn't afford it anymore and I had to sell it. Debating on tracking down another 86 and fixing it up instead of getting the 5th gen... Man I loved that car...

First Camaro was a Yellow 1970-1/2. Got it my sophomore year in high school as my primary car, so I didn't have to rely on my 1957 BelAir for everyday driving. Sold it to a buddy about a year after high school and he diassembled it in his barn to start building a custom Camaro. I think it finished now but I haven't seen it in 20 years.

My first and only Camaro is the 96 Z28 I bought last month
My first F-body was a rough 91 Formula with a 305 TBI that I bought when I was a senior in highschool back in 2000. It was red with t-tops and I lved that car when I had it. I eventually sold it for 92 GTA. First Camaro I ever drove was my brother's 89 IROC 5.7 white t-top. Real nice car. |

1974 bought new, 350 automatic, no air, AM-FM radio, Rally Wheels. Medium Green Metallic, Price $3,800.00 traded a 71 Vega Hatchback with 50K miles on it, Origionally paid $2,100 for it, They gave me $1,800 trade in on the Camaro. So basically I paid $2000 for a brand new car.

The first Camaro was a '77 from waaay back in the high school days. Last year of the chrome bumpers. =) It had a kind of gutless 305 but was still a fun ride. That one sure took a beating. lol
Camaro #2 was a 1968 vert that eventually inherited a nice 327. The first Camaro was traded for the engine actually. Convertibles in Seattle aren't the greatest of things but boy did I love that car anyways. |

I was seven years old in '67. My uncles owned Johnson Chevrolet in dowtown Indy. Uncle Dave used to bring cool Corvettes and other cars by now and then just in case Dad was having a mid-life crisis or anything like that. On spring day Uncle Dave showed up with one of the actual '67 Camaro Pace cars, flags and all. My Dad took me for a ride in it around the neighborhood. That's when I decided that someday I'd have to own a Camaro.
Dad Passed away on Christmas eve '98 and left me a little money. So I thought I'd try to make that dream a reality. My buddy found an internet ad for a '67 Pace car out of San Jose, Ca. I emailed him and found out he had recently relocated from the Indy area. The car was about six or seven miles up the road I live on. Guess it was meant to be! Took me a while but I finally got my first Camaro. Uncle Dave is second from the right, between Tony Hulman and the red jacket guy. |

I have only owned Camaros.
I bought my first car when I was 16. It was a 1984 Camaro Z28 - Gold. Then I bought a 1986 Camaro Z28 - White with T-Tops. I traded that car in for a 1989 Camaro IROC-Z - Maroon with T-Tops. (Big issues with this car) I bought my current car next and then sold my '89 IROC. My current car is a 1994 Camaro Z28 - White with Black strips and T-Tops. (My favorite car I have owned) I also have a 1967 Camaro SS350 that I am rebuilding. I have owned it for 3 years now and have been rebuilding it for a year. I have replaced everything from the doors forward with new sheet metal and a fiberglass hood. I will get it painted sometime in the years to come...but I will drive it in Primer now because I'm putting all my money towards a new 2010 Camaro SS/RS. |

My first Camaro was a '95 Z28. It was an M6 and it was a Federal Emissions car with the single cat'. What's funny (to me anyways) was that I almost didn't buy that car because I wanted a '95 dual cat' car (from either CA or NY emissions) so I could get what I thought would be a little more power. Little did I know, at the time, when I ended up buying SLP headers, that I think the single cat' headers probably flowed a little better because they had fewer aggressive bends to them. I ended up adding KBDD SFCs, a Borla adjustable catback (after going through several variations on Flowmaster 1 and 2-chamber mufflers,) a B&M Ripper (after beating up on a billet Hurst Competition for a few years,) K&N FIPK, and BBK 58mm throttle body (I opened up the intake passages a little.) I think the best I ran was a 13.7 @ 104 with a missed 2-3 shift but never ran it on good tires; only cheap street tires.
Then I got my '02 in '03 and threw a bunch more parts at it: SLP lid, K&N, SLP bellow, ported-polished-knife edged-half shalved-epoxied TB, MSD wires, a catchcan with two additional oil separators, QTP HVMC LTs, QTP cat'd y-pipe, QTEC cutout, Borla CB, (2) 24K B&M Super Coolers, Yank SS3800 TC, SLP SFCs, Spohn adjustable TA with crossmember, BMR adjustable PHR-LCAs-relocation brackets-STB, early Cobra R-style polished wheels (17 X 9 , 17 X 10.5,) and a bunch of other little things here and there. I haven't had a clean run with DRs, but with manifolds, lid, catback, stall, and tranny tune, ran a rough 12.6 @ 108 with a 1.6 60' bangin' off the rev' limiter a couple times on the 2-3 shift. I think I can get into the 12.4s with manifolds and bottom 12s with my LTs an a little weight loss. Next: 2012 Z28
