Question TIMING

all ready did a search here and the web, could not find an answer.

at idle, the v6 engine, how much timimg is setting at or how much is it pulling at idle? when the car is fully warmed up. i have the torque app on my droid and have tryed it out and it works really well. i have a dash hawk hooked to the car also. and the torque program is right on with hawk readings and the car guages. it does have a timing gauge in the torque app. so i was wondering what the car should be at idle? any help or where can i find the answer?

at idle the timing bounce from 9* to 12* Just curious, why do you want to know the timing on idle?

The most important timing is on WOT.

Cool

I have put on a cherry bomb cat back exhaust. and it started to knock against the rear end the other day while at idle. thin i ready the thread about possibly the knock sensers thinking the exhaust knocking against the rear axle and maybe causing the timing to advancing. i am moving the exhaust, it came loose, so it will not knock against the rear end this weekend. just wanted to see if the timing was advanced per the reading on the torque app. i am going out to check in a few mins. i ll let you know what i find out. thanks for the response.

What kind of timing should you see at WOT?

here is my results for timing.
car, 2010 2LT/RS, airaid intake, catch can, hypertech tune, ported thottlre body.
weather, temp 54, iat or ait temp70, car fully warmed up.
cruised at 40 mph.
at idle the timing was 6.5 to 9.5 degrees, at 40 mph timing was 50 degrees.
so that is it. I do not know what it should be. so is there anyone out there that can interpret this for me. many thanks in advance.
was in town so was not going to do any speeding.

The timing will be all over the place while part throttle. Where you should pay attention is while wot. I don't know how much timing hypertech set their timing to if any so I can't be any good there. Just go wot in 2nd gear and see where you get the highest timing and how much.
