Will be there all day Sunday. Now that pricing is released, I'm overexcited and not sure if I can wait until Sunday. Starting to get sick....must .......make it .........to work......can't take time off yet.......

Trick to the turkey... is cut a lemon in half and insert under skin. Almost a sin isn't it?
The way we cook our turkeys... This is for about a 12- 18 lb turkey. Preheat oven to 500 about 8pm nite before Thanksgiving. Put prepped turkey in big pan with a litte water. Wrap entire turkey in aluminum foil to keep moisture IN. Best to layer aluminum foil inside pan so getting turkey out later is easier. Insert in Oven (at 500) for Two (2) hours. After 2 hours turn oven back to 160 and let cook ALL NIGHT. Next AM, Thanksgiving Day... turkey is done in AM already. Uncover, baste and let brown for an hour to get it to turn brown. It will not be brown in the AM, but the meat will almost fall off the bone. House smells great. Nothing left to do but the side items. No rushing around. Just relax and enjoy the day. |
