Trifecta is what most have on here. More support and custom tunes.
I definitely felt a improvement with Trifecta.

not telling you to not buy hypertech, but data logging for trifecta is a piece of cake if you have a laptop. It also gives you a tune more dialed into your car specifically. Most have Trifecta because it was all that was offered for quite some time, but I havn't heard anyone complain after getting it.

Just plug the cable into your laptop, open the Trifect app, start the logging tool and make some short runs. You'll probably want to do one normal driving for about 2 minutes, one WOT pull up to the speed limit and maybe one cruising on the highway. Until you change mods that should be all you have to do. It is a really simple process.

its nice if you have a automatic bc you can change your shift firmess and limiter settings. I would have gone trifecta but it wasnt $300 bucks at the time.

Trifecta is great. The datalogging is easy and Vince has great customer service as well.
Also, last time i checked, trifecta gives more power than hypertech. I understand why people would like a handheld tuner but to be honest, I got mine tuned and haven't asked for anything to be tweaked or adjusted in about 3 months. |

Correct, until you get another mod if you wish or if you feel anything is off with your car but Vince is pretty good at getting it right with all the basic mods. Another thing to consider is that I don't believe hypertech can remove the speed limiter. I saw you were an ls like me and ours come limited at 118 because of our tires. You can remove it when you get when you get tires that are better rated. Not that you'll be going that fast... Just a thought

You do not HAVE to data log if you don't want to. The hypertech tune is NOT a custom tune. The fuel trim corrections, if any, are static. The timing advance is static. Nothing really changes past what they did on their initial tunes, other than a few user-selectable parameters. With Trifecta, it's a fully custom tune done to your specific car. You may have better gas than someone living is California or something and be able to run more timing, etc. not all cars/situations are created equal, so why would the tune be?
Plus with trifecta, we adjust for your mods now AND later. If you get headers, just let us know, well adjust the tune at no cost. You data log as much as we need you to at first. Usually 1-3 times, to get the tune dialed in. After that, you just need to do it again if you change something on the car. We also adjust the transmission to your liking and will change it down the road if you want firmer or less firm shifts later on. Order here- www.badnewsracing.net/webstore |

^^^^ This.
Also, that reminds me. I believe the hypertech can't turn the cel off. Trifecta can and this is relevant because if you get long tube headers you won't want the cel on. Trifecta can remove the CEL as well as tune for free for any additional mods that aren't forced induction or e85. |
