Hey, Cornerspeed
You're gonna think I'm nuts but I ran both our Laguna video Best Lap times and noted our speeds at each apex. I wanted to see how far off I am from you, man.

Yeah, I'm a nut with this stuff. Numbers and tracking shtuff. I kinda like it actually. But I'm not in finance or anything. Good seeing you online again. Seems like it's been a while. How was the 'Fest?
Ozzy's seems to have gone radio silent. Perhaps he's getting hitched. |

ehhh...nothing much to report...been getting buried at work with guys going on leave after i came back, and waiting on parts for the car...only have a couple of small mods/repairs coming in the near future. waiting to hear if newb's tuner friend is coming out, so i can get a dyno tune and finish opening up these nice LTs started looking at roll cages for the future, holy sh!t they're more expensive than i expected (was also looking at chromoly 5 or 6 points)
still spending time on the forum, but not quite as much. new security rules at work keep the cell phone locked up at the door, and since i quit smoking i don't step outside as much either :/ wish i could've made it to Fest...maybe next year! started applying for my next duty station last month...and again this month...hopefully i'll know something positive next week! |

Thanks man, I'm only 4 days in, so still getting used to doing everything without smoking again. Quit for a few months last year, but generally speaking I've smoked a pack a day for 16 years. Saving the cigarette money for a cam package? Maybe a little motivation helps

i think i was looking at RPM's chromoly cage, and it was $2000, iirc...i don't know jack about the cages, so it was just exploratory searching online. i know i'd like to get removable door bars on both sides, and chromoly for weight. i wouldn't mind doing a permanent install, except i doubt i want to pay for welding, so i was looking for bolt-ins that i could do myself and wouldn't mind just leaving in there (hence, the removable door bars).
$2000 seemed pretty steep, but again, i just started looking at these. maybe it's not a bad price. until i leave hawaii though, i'm just window-shopping/researching/saving thanks for the encouragement with the quitting too, guys |

Chromoly is a type of steel, different from chrome which is a chemically applied process that goes over different types of metal.

Ozzy: congrats on kicking the habit. My grandparent quit. My mom and dad quit (dad used to small 5 packs of Pall Mall per day, no joke). He's now 72 and very healthy.
Anyway, good to see you online again. We're about a year into our journey as the 11/12 crew. Keep us posted where you move. We all need an 11/12 reunion ... virtual or physical. |
