Nice, do you have a build thread? I'd like to follow your progress on this.

No not yet. Still waiting on all my parts to show up. When they do I'll post something up! I have opted to go with a pioneer head unit and either the scosche kit or a one off fiberglassed set up (not sure yet).

It's has been going on for 5+ months now, I hope to see progress someday. I'm leaning towards a kit and an aftermarket head unit now. I really like the stock looking unit better but don't know how long I can wait!

I'm certain this has been asked before, however, I have not been succesful in searching through these threads. My take from this thread is that most of the issues arise with getting the MyLink unit to work and not necessarily the faceplate and AC controls.

I was curious if the 2013 GM Double DIN faceplate was compatible with 2010's (Ability to use AC Controls, Seat Warming, etc) and just using a compatible aftermarket stereo (Pioneer or the like) instead of MyLink. My biggest gripe about the aftermarket faceplates is that they ruin the look of the dash. Again, I'm sorry that this has been asked many times before, I'm just having bad luck finding that specific answer.

Thanks guys and gals!

except that the face plate has the screen and button for mylink built into it. so finding an aftermarket stereo that would plug in to the screen and allow being controlled buy those button. wont happen

Ah thanks! I wonder how easy it is to remove? And if the screen itself is actually the size of most Double DIN displays?

Just an FYI have a resource at a dealer who let me plug a MyLink into my 12 ZL1 and it did not work at all. The screen flashed colors and went nuts. So even for the 12s it's not a plug/play.

Here is why, there are 6 new wires in the onstar box only, and how do you connect a mylink with out the right wires from the front face plate to the rear head unit? then the new Nav cables.
