MyLink Painting Opinions

I decided to paint my mylink a week ago, everything went smoothly until the last two coats, where I might've over done it. After two days of letting it alone, I realized the mylink was all ruggedly in most areas (about 95% of it). That being said I put it back in its place. I figured it wouldn't bug me as much since I got it painted the color I wanted.. But now its starting to bug me little by little. So here's the question: Should I just remove the mylink and start over with the paint job or Is there a way I can smooth out the paint without removing the paint (Don't want anything to go wrong)?

Depending on how bad it is and since I don't have a pic to tell, I would start out by using 1000 grit sand paper and wet sand it all smooth. If the 1000 grit doesn't seem to be helping, go down to 600 grit until it is smooth and then go over it with the 1000 grit. Then you have two options: you can either go over it with 1500 or 2000 grit and then buff and polish it to a shine or just put another coat of paint on it. Since its a mylink unit, buffing and polishing might be more difficult. But if you keep getting runs and rough spots in some small areas after recoating it, just do the buffing option in those spots. Hope this helps!

Also, use a nice and even pressure with the sand paper. You don't want to press down on it super hard.
