You may want to defrag your drive, if you're not running a SSD or still old school and running Win7 like me.

I'm not a WinH8 convert and beyond... although I do have a stupid Win10 laptop for DR and roadtrips w/ the shell hack on it.

Throw it if a cliff. That would make mine faster for sure. Damn thing died last Thursday. Had to send it back to Dell Friday so they could fix it . I'm going through withdrawal right now. It's just not the same surfing the net on my smart phone.

No not a hard drive, I wish I can fix that my self. I think it was the power supply or the MB in the laptop. I think the power brick is still good. I haven't heard what is wrong with it yet . First time I've had a Alienware computer just stop working . Best part is the warranty is due to run out Nov. 8th.

Ya I would be really pissed about it then. I've got another Alienware 17" laptop at home that needs a Cmos battery . This really should have motivated me to take it apart and see if I can get a new one but... what the hell. It's a pain in the ass to get to.

yeah i hear ya! that's the biggest thing about fixing things yourself... finding the time to do it!!
most of the time we can fix everything ourselves but finding the time to sit down and do it is the hard part.

I'm still on Windows 7 for my home computer, and it's still fast

Bought my last two computers from Falcon Northwest, and both are pretty powerful. My most recent one is usually well into the top 1% on speed tests. I've built my own machines in the past, however this last one was a little overboard. I do a fair amount of gaming and video editing/processing, so the speed helps.
