Tune depends on several things....do you need it, well kinda not really, depends on what you want out of the car. If a CEL comes on the tune can delete it. You can see how the car is performing and if anything should be adjusted. Otherwise yeah it would run maybe just not a peak.

How is this possible? I PMed BBK and they told me they CAI wasn't going to be available for a few months because they're redesigning it. That was two days ago...

Then I'm down to BBK or K&N and I'm told one thing and you're told another. What is the deal with these companies? I'm trying to give my money to somebody, everyone just keeps giving me reasons not to. |

Why not just go with the Injen then? Its priced well, performs great, looks good, and its available to ship.

I completely agree with you. The Injen is proven and highly touted by many on this board. But call it paranoia, stubborness, whatever you want, I just don't feel comfortable with it down there. I know everyone says water isn't an issue but for me I would always be thinking about it and I'd rather just not worry about it. I'm pretty sure now I'll be going with the K&N Typhoon. Looks awesome, and let's be honest, none of the intakes really do THAT much for performance. So for me it's about which one provides some gains and looks best.

Thats understandable too. Im in southern cali so i dont need to worry about much rain or flooding. We did have a pretty good down pour here and i drove through for quite a while, and hit some big puddles and i checked the filter when i got home and it was completely dry. If your in an area where flooding and heavy rain or mud is an issue, then it would be understandable to go with a product that doesnt sit so close. Since the intake is going to be sitting up where the stock one sits, maybe you can try fashioning a tube or scoop to help get the colder air up there. |

BBK may make a good intake but it is primarily the same design style as the airaid & k&n. Either way they are open box style which means you have to have the hood closed during dyno testing.
